Industrial Engineer

Position Summary

The Industrial Engineer develops accurate competitive costs per unit to maximize the use and the return on all our resources, meeting the needs of our Customer, our Company and our People.

The Industrial Engineer will operate within the outline defined by the Crescent Way’s 3 P’s:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 Safety

  1. Read and understand the Crescent Safety Playbook – Doing It Safe.
  2. Actively consider safety practices while constructing line drawings for projects.
  3. Consider feedback from the production floor regarding safety and perform time studies/line drawing adjustments as needed.

Quality 

  1. Attend weekly Quality New Build Review meetings. Facilitate and provide callouts to production and quality teams.
  2. Communicate changes to packaging when discussed with the customer’s engineers.
  3. Work with the customer and Crescent People in order to improve quality metrics.
  4. Sustain and drive Lean Manufacturing and 5S activities driving Quality CI initiatives.

 Productivity

  1. Perform time studies on items that are not performing to standard.
  2. Champion the Crescent Culture of Doing it Right, Doing it Safe and Doing it Well and abide by all written and understood policies and procedures.
  3. Identify, drive, and support all Continuous Improvement (CI) efforts.
  4. Work with Crescent People to improve bottlenecks on production lines

 People

  1. Participate in new build startups to help Crescent People succeed.
  2. Communicate with Crescent People to help build a plan that sets the team up for success.
  3. Promote a Work Environment where Crescent People are valued and can safely communicate, grow and develop.

Customer Value

  1. Manage customer relationships, reporting and communication to ensure customers are well informed with Crescent performance, challenges and CI initiatives.

Financial

  1. Perform time studies when items are not running to standard
  2. Improve organizational efficiency and waste reduction
  3. Analyze lean practices to improve productivity
  4. Manage the correct use of all material and supplies.

All other duties as assigned, including but not limited to identifying and training an individual capable of successfully completing all stated Essential Duties and Responsibilities as appropriate to maintain integrity of position for progression planning and coverage during times of absence.

Work Environment / Physical Demands

  • Fast paced environment, requiring adaptability to constant changes in schedules, volumes, staffing and shift requirements.
  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arm’s length, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

 Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or related Field
  • Experience with ERP/MRP Systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communication

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lean manufacturing and Continuous Improvement (CI) Experience
  • Six Sigma/Lean Six Sigma

Pay Range

$68,000 - $73,000 USD
