Tool Room Attendant
RECONCRAFT is seeking dedicated Tool Room Attendant responsible for the control, issuance, tracking, and maintenance of all tools, equipment, and consumable supplies used in production operations in Clackamas, Oregon. This position ensures tools are properly accounted for, maintained in working condition, and readily available to support efficient production flow.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Issue and receive tools, equipment, and supplies to production personnel
- Maintain accurate records of tool inventory, usage, and location
- Track and control high-value and specialty equipment
- Inspect tools for damage, wear, or safety issues and remove from service when necessary
- Restock consumables (grinding materials, drill bits, welding supplies, PPE, etc.)
- Coordinate tool repairs, replacements, and purchases with the maintenance department, supervision and purchasing
- Maintain clean, organized, and secure tool room/crib area
- Conduct routine inventory counts and audits
- Prepare and stage tool kits or job-specific equipment as needed
- Support production teams by responding to tool requests in a timely manner
- Enforce company tool control procedures and ensure compliance
- Perform other duties as assigned
Essential Job Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Required Experience and Knowledge:
- Experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial shop environment preferred
- Basic computer skills (inventory tracking systems, spreadsheets, or similar tools)
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and welding/fabrication equipment
- Skills and Abilities
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills with shop personnel and supervision
- Ability to maintain accountability and enforce tool control procedures
- Problem-solving skills and initiative
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
- Standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods
- Work in an industrial fabrication shop environment
- WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Industrial fabrication environment with exposure to noise, dust, welding operations, and heavy machinery. PPE is required in designated areas.
