IT Business Consultant
Coho Consulting Group is seeking a Business Analyst with strong process improvement capabilities and a working understanding of IT systems and infrastructure. This role supports federal programs by analyzing business operations, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing optimized solutions that align with both operational and technical environments. The ideal candidate combines Lean Six Sigma or similar methodologies with the ability to collaborate effectively with cloud, networking, and application teams.
This role is considered remote (DMV area preferred), minimal travel to Ft. Meade, MD
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Analyze current business processes, workflows, and systems to identify gaps, redundancies, and improvement opportunities
- Lead and support process improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma, Agile, or comparable frameworks
- Gather, document, and validate business and functional requirements across stakeholders
- Translate business needs into technical requirements for IT teams, including cloud-based and networked environments
- Collaborate with developers, engineers, and system architects to ensure alignment between business objectives and technical solutions
- Support system implementation, testing, and deployment activities
- Develop process maps, standard operating procedures, and documentation artifacts
- Conduct data analysis to support decision-making and measure process performance improvements
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and briefings with both technical and non-technical audiences
Essential Job Qualifications and Requirements:
- Clearance
- Active or Interim Secret security clearance
- Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or equivalent certification (preferred)
- Required Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement initiatives
- Strong understanding of IT environments, including cloud platforms and basic networking concepts
- Experience with requirements gathering, process mapping, and data analysis
- Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Excel, Visio, and other data or workflow tools
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal or Department of Defense programs
- Familiarity, experience with Agile or SAFe methodologies
- Understanding or experience using Jira
