Senior Creative Engineer, Contract

As a Senior Creative Engineer, you are a seasoned professional in digital design at high scale. You will work with an amazing team of creatives to make sure that artwork is designed at scale according to our client’s brand guidelines. You will take design briefs and key art from the account and creative team, ensuring conceptual creative ideas are designed at scale for digital delivery to market. 

You are an ideal candidate if you come from an advertising agency or production design studio and have worked on a range of creative projects from marketing collateral, digital campaigns, print work, brand work, ads, and more.

You will

  • Collaborate with the Creative Team to bring their ideas to life with best practices and brand standards being top of mind.
  • Bring forth ideas to improve upon the team’s systems and processes to aid in maintaining an efficient workflow.
  • Work with internal teams, account and creative to ensure continuity of delivery of final files within agreed timeframes and to high standards.
  • Design to pixel-perfection and translate key art into the various resizes and versions required by the digital media buy.
  • Become fully ingrained into the brand’s design templates and acting as gatekeeper of brand guidelines. 
  • Mentor junior Creative Engineers to facilitate their development, including but not limited to their production design and technical design skills, to increase productivity and enhanced staff morale.
  • Understand technical limitations that may affect what can be achieved creatively in various media types and propose ideas to elevate creative fit for platform
  • Build clean creative files to help manifest the development of a working framework
  • Stay up to date on best digital practices for various platforms
  • Create a detailed template guide to clearly communicate the workings of the system

 

You have

  • 3-5 years of experience working as a production designer or designer who thrives in high scale output, in an advertising agency, print or design studio. 
  • Seasoned with high-volume design 
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficiency in motion design
  • Proficiency with Figma/Sketch
  • Experience building and editing Keynote & PowerPoint decks
  • The mindset to be a mentor on the design team.
  • Pixel-perfect attention to detail with a commitment to quality assurance.
  • Expertise in layout production, image optimization, static/animated advertising banners, email production, and visual guidelines.
  • General understanding of HTML5

***The rate below is hourly.

We continually review ranges to address skills, experience and markets. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a number of factors that include, but aren’t limited to, a candidate’s experience and skills relative to the scope and responsibilities of the position. For current CM employees, tenure will also be a consideration.

Salary Range

$45 - $45 CAD
