Dev Technology Group is looking for a Lead Software Security Developer to support both Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and new development efforts for a federal government client. What You'll Be Doing:

Dev Technology Group is looking for a Cloud Engineer to support both Operations & Maintenance (O&M) and new development efforts for a federal government client. The ideal candidate will have relevant Cloud engineering experience, strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage complex work activities in a deadline-driven environment. This is a great opportunity to work on mission-critical systems that provide clear value to end users and our federal government clients.

What You'll Be Doing:

The Cloud Engineer will have overall responsibility for supporting DevSecOps pipeline development, performance monitoring / configuration, billing / usage of cloud resources, and migration of program applications and services between cloud environments. Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsibility for planning and delivering solutions that improve connectivity and data processing with external partners.
  • Setting up and maintaining dev, test, UAT and staging environments.
  • Designing and deploying (CI/CD) pipelines to deploy infrastructure as code (IaC).

 

Required Education, Experience, and Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s degree with eight (8) or more years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environment OR No Bachelor’s Degree with ten (10) or more years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Agile development experience
  • Excellent active listening skills
  • Ability to discuss technical issues with non-technical, executive-level government officials
  • Ability to problem-solve and develop solutions to complex business needs

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional.
  • DevSecOps pipeline tools including configuration management, requirements (e.g. JIRA), automated testing, automated deployments (CI/CD pipelines), blue green deployments, and branching strategy and implementation.
  • Developing web services and application programming interfaces (APIs), with knowledge of open standards, such as XML (Extensible Markup Language), SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol), WSDL (Web Services Description Language) and UDDI (Universal Description, Discovery and Integration), and an understanding of how APIs are engineered.
  • Designing and implementing Cloud-based AWS solutions.
  • Applying The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) in Agile solution designs to minimize technical debt and improve overall velocity.
  • Designing logical and network diagrams.
  • Migration of applications from AWS Commercial Cloud to FedRamp Approved Gov Cloud.
  • Network communication protocols, ports, routing, proxy settings, and firewall policies.
  • Designing solutions compliant with the Federal Information Management Security Act (FISMA) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Security Standards and Security Requirements.
  • Message Services, such as development of Apache ActiveMQ services, MuleSoft and/or Apache Camel.
  • Microservices / container architectures (e.g. Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes), orchestration and automation.
  • Developing root cause analyses, problem identification and resolution, and creating roadmaps for problems within system design and implementation of existing and new systems.
  • Optimizing system performance and resource utilization through log and monitoring analysis.
  • Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools, such as (but not limited to) Data Dog, AppDynamics and/or NewRelic.
  • Designing and implementing Cloud-based hosting solutions, as well as Cloud-based backup and recovery, including failover zones.
  • Best practices in billing and accounting with AWS to minimize oversubscription of services.
  • Database management and administration (Mongo DB and Oracle).
