Your role
As an HR Generalist, you will support employees' needs and collaborate with leaders to implement effective talent strategies and programs, ensuring employees have the resources and support needed to excel in their roles. You will build deep, trusted relationships that allow you to foster a high-performing and engaged workforce and have a lasting impact on the organization and team.
This position will be based in our Vancouver, BC Office. This role requires working from Dialpad’s Vancouver office 1-2 days per week. Additional in-office time may be needed for specific projects or events.
What you’ll do
- Supports employees by providing HR guidance on policies and procedures when appropriate.
- Partner with managers and employees to understand employee relations challenges and facilitate resolution.
- Support the execution of critical cyclical people programs such as bi-annual performance reviews, quarterly OKR process and engagement surveys. Lead program communications, including content development and training, to ensure clarity on programs.
- Manage leave of absences for employees based in Canada and UK.
- Partner with the Benefits team to provide feedback from employees on impactful and relevant benefits.
- Oversee employee visa applications, in partnership with external immigration counsels.
- Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions, etc.).
- Lead new hire onboarding sessions.
- Partner with People Experience teams (i.e., Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Total Rewards, People Operations) to develop and implement talent management and employee engagement programs, including conducting training sessions.
- Partner with the business to facilitate talent reviews focused on employee growth and development and organizational health priorities.
- Provide support to Sr HRBPs on programs and initiatives for assigned organization.
- Provide compensation guidance to leaders for salary actions, including the annual salary review, promotions, and job re-leveling situations.
- Develop an understanding of key business objectives (OKRs), and key performance indicators, and analyze trends to inform better programs and policies for each organization.
- Review and analyze business metrics (retention and engagement) with business leaders.
- Be flexible to fill in gaps on the team where needed.
Skills you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience with specific expertise in performance management, program and project management, and employee relations for high-growth technology companies.
- Previous experience working in a SaaS company preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to learn business objectives quickly and influence talent and org decisions that impact business outcomes.
- A self-motivated and results-oriented individual who consistently exhibits optimism, solutions-thinking, empathy, adaptability, persistence, and accountability.
- Strong knowledge of local legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Strong G-Suite skills, including building Google Slides presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to provide data-informed insights and recommendations. Strong program management skills.
- Demonstrated resourcefulness and problem-solving skills, consistently finding solutions and answers, even under challenging circumstances with limited information.
- Proficient analytical skills with the ability to take direct ownership of interpreting data and using data to recommend solutions and influence decision-making.
- Experience building trusted relationships across the HR function, executives, managers, and employees.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on tact and diplomacy.
- Strong work ethic, integrity, and personal responsibility.
