Overview
This role involves providing technical support to the Data Science Division (DSD), focusing on cloud computing, data architecture, and AI technologies. The contractor will act as a subject matter expert (SME) in data engineering, cloud computing, data strategies, and best practices. Responsibilities include advising on data governance, data integration, ETL processes, and AI/ML model integration while collaborating with stakeholders within the DoD community.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining cloud data storage and processing strategies aligned with mission requirements.
- Advising on data security, privacy, and best practices in data architecture, warehousing, and governance.
- Building data pipelines and models for AI and analytics applications.
- Producing data architecture standards, maintaining repositories, and preparing detailed reports.
- Solving technical issues using research, creativity, and analytical skills.
- Design and develop databases to support research, analyzing business requirements, and optimizing database solutions for scalability and performance.
- Creating logical and physical data models supporting healthcare interoperability standards and vocabularies such as FHIR and SNOMED.
- Designing database integration using No-SQL, SQL, T-SQL, and related tools.
- Collaborating on data extraction and transformation requirements.
- Implementing innovative data flows and solutions for clinical and operational improvements.
- Ensuring database recovery, security, and optimization through standards and best practices.
Core Skills and Tools:
- Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience - project leadership; project development from inception to deployment, expertise in the management and control of funds and resources using complex reporting mechanisms; demonstrated capability in managing multi-task contracts and/or subcontracts of various types and complexity.
- Expertise in cloud architecture, database design, and AI integration, including object-oriented databases.
- Proficiency in No SQL, SQL, T-SQL, SSIS, and data modeling tools.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, security, and regulatory compliance.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to create technical documentation.
Hybrid Schedule: three days in office and two days telework.
Basic Compensation: $125,000 - $135,532 yearly salary
The salary offered within this range will be based on the selected candidates’ skills, experience, education, market data, and internal parity. DLH may offer other rewards that may include performance incentives and program-specific awards. An applicant’s salary history will not be used to determine compensation.
