By combining technical excellence with a client-first approach, we continue to set the standard for electrical contracting in the Southwest.

The Opportunity

The Industrial Project Manager owns electrical and instrumentation projects in operating industrial facilities. You will run the full lifecycle from award through commissioning and turnover, holding scope, schedule, budget, and the client relationship across every job you carry.

Industrial work carries constraints commercial work does not. Most of what we build goes into water and wastewater treatment plants, manufacturing facilities, and classified hazardous locations that cannot stop running, so your schedule is built around shutdown windows and tie-ins that do not move. The scope also reaches past power into instrumentation, control panels, and commissioning, which means long-lead procurement, coordination with our UL508A panel shop, and a startup phase that is a real part of the job rather than an afterthought.

What You'll Do

Own the Project Lifecycle

  • Manage assigned industrial projects from award through commissioning, turnover, and closeout, delivering on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Develop Method of Procedures documents and execution plans that account for plant operations, outage windows, and tie-in sequencing.
  • Monitor progress against milestones and act on delays, scope changes, and the field conditions that come with existing facilities.
  • Coordinate with the Prefab Department and our UL508A panel shop on control panel fabrication, delivery, and Factory Acceptance Testing.

Plan Around the Plant

  • Build and hold schedules around plant shutdown windows, turnarounds, and tie-ins to live systems.
  • Manage long-lead procurement for switchgear, motor control equipment, instrumentation, and control panels.
  • Coordinate permits, lockout and tagout, hot work, and confined space requirements for work in operating and classified areas.
  • Work with plant operations and maintenance staff to sequence work with minimal disruption to production.

Drive Commissioning and Turnover

  • Plan and manage the commissioning phase, including loop checks, functional testing, and startup support.
  • Coordinate with controls and instrumentation teams on system checkout and owner acceptance.
  • Manage punch resolution, as-built documentation, calibration records, and owner training and turnover packages.

Manage the Commercial Side

  • Review purchase orders, submittals, and contracts, and maintain the change order log.
  • Price and negotiate change orders.
  • Manage project billing, keeping invoicing accurate and on time.
  • Process time and material vouchers and track project-related costs.

Lead and Contribute

  • Conduct project meetings and provide direction to field leadership and coordinators.
  • Serve as the point of contact for owners, engineers, and general contractors on project status, changes, and issues.
  • Enforce safety compliance and promote a zero-incident mindset on every project.
  • Apply our Standard Operating Procedures and contribute to improving them.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Five (5) years of experience in the electrical contracting industry, with a focus on project management.
  • Experience managing projects in operating industrial facilities, including work sequenced around shutdowns or tie-ins to live systems.
  • OSHA 30 certification.

Preferred

  • Experience managing instrumentation and controls scope, including loop checks, panel integration, and commissioning.
  • Experience in water and wastewater treatment, manufacturing, or other process facilities.
  • Experience with work in classified hazardous locations.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Knowledge of electrical estimating and cost control.
  • Proficiency with Viewpoint Vista, Procore, or Accubid.

We recognize that experience comes from many paths. An equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience that results in successful performance of the job is welcomed. Additional education may substitute for required experience on a one-for-one year basis, or vice versa.

Work Environment

This role is based in the office with regular visits to active jobsites and operating industrial facilities. Work is primarily at a desk and on a computer, with occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. Site visits require personal protective equipment and bring exposure to noise, dust, weather, and classified or confined areas. Expect occasional work outside standard hours to support shutdown windows and system cutovers.
