Associate Director of Shopper Marketing

About the Role:
The Associate Director of Shopper Marketing will be responsible for developing and executing innovative shopper marketing programs that resonate with the Dr. Squatch audience and drive conversion across retail channels. This role requires a deep understanding of shopper behavior, retail dynamics, and marketing best practices, as well as strong analytical and project management skills. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, an innovator, and a collaborative team player with a proven track record of success in shopper marketing.
This role will report to VP of Marketing.
This is a full-time, hybrid role with company benefits based out of Dr. Squatch HQ in Marina del Rey, CA.
The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be $120,000 to $150,000. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market rates.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and implement comprehensive shopper marketing strategies that align with overall brand and business objectives.
- Lead the execution of shopper marketing programs, including planning, budgeting, execution, and post-program analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, brand marketing, product, etc.) to ensure seamless program execution and alignment.
- Identify and analyze key shopper insights and trends to inform program development and optimize performance.
- Partner with account managers to foster and grow relationships with key retail partners, securing promotional opportunities and maximize program impact.
- Develop and manage shopper marketing budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing ROI.
- Track and measure program performance, providing regular reports and insights to key stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest shopper marketing trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Contribute to the development of the annual shopper marketing plan.
- Mentor and develop junior team members (if applicable).
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- MBA preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in shopper marketing, preferably in the CPG or related industry.
- High-growth brands preferred.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful shopper marketing programs.
- Deep understanding of shopper behavior, retail dynamics, and marketing best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Experience managing budgets and vendor relationships.
- Experience working in the consumer products industry is highly preferred.
- Someone who gets things done without perfect resources is innovative and works with a sense of urgency.
- Someone who proactively helps others stays positive and has a good sense of humor.
