Senior Sponsorship Consultant

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
The Senior Sponsorship Consultant will be a trusted advisor to the client, helping develop the architecture of sponsorship strategy that will help drive their business forward. Momentum is looking for an intellectually curious self-starter and strategic thinker, who is adept at leading projects and day-to-day communications with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Knowledge of and passion for the sports and entertainment landscape is preferred, and experience in sponsorship marketing, either from a brand, agency or property perspective, would be even better.


HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO (RESPONSIBILITIES)

Business Acumen & Subject Matter Expertise

  • Serves as overall agency sponsorship analytics lead
    • Coaches and mentors Associate Sponsorship Strategists and Sponsorship Strategy Interns
    • Defining success and benchmark goals for new programs including sponsorship evaluation methodology, scorecarding, measurement reporting and KPI development
    • Drives development of agency documents including sponsorship analysis playbook
    • Identify and support areas of agency sponsorship tool development or methodology enhancement
  • Manages client deliverables related to sponsorship strategy
    • Develops and delivers strategic POVs/sponsorship evaluations and presentations through effective use of creative storytelling and qualitative and quantitative analyses
    • Audits current investments and provides optimization recommendations and roadmaps
    • Analyzes complex datasets to ensure clients’ sponsorship investments are strategically-aligned
    • Segmentation Analysis, looking at ways to segment audiences and identifying connections across various marketing channels
    • Strategic prioritizing of strategies and recommendations based on ROI calculations
    • Crafts tailored negotiation strategies to support clients in securing optimized partnership deals
  • Supports client-servicing on all elements of the sponsorship lifecycle
    • Drives day-to-day client communication as needed
    • Liaison with Business Leadership team
    • Primary sponsorship team lead for partner relationship and rights management
    • Develops sponsorship agreements in collaboration with clients’ legal departments
    • Coordination of standardized processes for vehicle and financial logistics
  • Maintains pulse on industry trends and category developments
    • Research lead to help craft thought leadership pieces including industry POVs and case studies
    • Knowledge mapping and insights creation through third party and client data
  • Collaborates with inter-disciplinary agency teams and external stakeholders
    • Contribute SME and insights to drive ideation for creative brand activations alongside teams of business leaders, strategists, creatives, and integrated producers.
    • Leverage creative problem-solving ability to aid in the agency’s development of solutions to solve clients’ brand and business challenges.
    • Conduit to working relationship among disciplines within Strategy & Insights Collective such as Research, Strategy, Measurement & Analytics
  • Contribute to various internal and external projects to broaden the agency scope within the sponsorship consulting discipline (related to both existing clients as well as new business efforts- RFP responses/pitches/etc.)

HERE’S WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR (QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS)

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Preferably in Marketing, or a related field of study.
  • Knowledge and passion to work in the sports & entertainment industry with 5-7 years of client leadership/client management and sponsorship experience
  • Sports Sponsorship and/or Experiential experience 
  • Agency or other relevant sponsorship experience strongly desired.
  • Exceptional relationship and influencing skills
  • Negotiation experience on partnership and sponsorship deals preferred.
  • Experienced in strategic thinking and ability to see, articulate and drive to the big picture
  • Passion and solution orientated approach to problem solving
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills and adept at communicating effectively with clients.
  • Familiarity with the structure of sponsorship agreements, considered to be an asset
  • Knowledge/ experience within the automotive industry, considered an asset
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver Powerpoint presentations, reports, and other deliverables to clients and other internal/external stakeholders
  • Experience in developing proposal/contract evaluations, measurement plans, and/or frameworks, considered to be an asset
  • Displays natural intellectual curiosity – always seeks to understand the “why”.
  • Ability to perform well in a fast-changing environment.
  • Exceptional client management skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • A passion to help and develop people – making yourself readily available to answer questions and offer support, and the ability to motivate people to succeed
  • Experience in leading teams to accomplish a shared objective.
