Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced communications professional to serve as our Head of Global Communications. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, the Head of Communications will set and guide the strategy for communications across the organization with equal emphasis on identifying reputational risks and proactive storytelling opportunities. This leader will play a key role in supporting top-of-funnel awareness and education for EarnIn’s products, B2B offerings, and policy initiatives, while working closely with Marketing on integrated campaign planning and execution. The Head of Communications will also work in close partnership with the CEO to elevate executive visibility, helping shape and drive a thought leadership platform that aligns with the company’s mission and broader narrative.

We are seeking someone who thrives on cross-functional collaboration, brings creativity and calm under pressure, and is excited to tell stories about simple, innovative products that improve people’s lives.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $189,000 - $250,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
This is a hybrid position with the expectation of working in our Mountain View office two days per week.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with the organization's overall goals and objectives across Product, B2B, and Policy Comms.
- Build and execute a strategic and proactive PR program. Manage media inquiries, develop and implement media strategies, and cultivate relationships with journalists and other media contacts.
- Align PR strategies with business milestones and work in close partnership with internal stakeholders to ensure timelines and deliverables meet the needs of the business
- Support EarnIn's top of funnel marketing initiatives across PR, social, influencer, grassroots partnerships events, community management, etc.
- Work with internal partners as a thought leader and expert on internal communication strategies.
- Manage and mentor team members (currently 1).
- Work with and manage external agencies and resources.
- Work closely with the social marketing team to ensure brand and messaging alignment.
- Partner with the government relations team to support policy communications and advocacy efforts.
What We’re Looking For:
- 12+ years of experience working in media relations, communications, public relations or public affairs with a proven record of success.
- Bachelor's, degree or equivalent industry experience.
- Passion for Earnin’s mission.
- Effective interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication abilities.
- Proven expertise in managing social media accounts.
- Experience leading external agencies.
- Demonstrated knowledge in the developing, deploying and activating media & communication campaigns with measurable business impact.
- Demonstrated knowledge in developing strategic and tactical communication plans.
- Extremely strong written and verbal communication skills. Meticulous attention to detail.
- Must be a creative and strategic thinker with good judgment and ability to make independent decisions in a changing environment.
- Consummate team player with a great attitude who is happy to assist with all projects.
- Strong discretion and integrity handling confidential information.
- Must move projects to timely completion working with multiple busy executives with competing priorities.
- Excellent organization and time-management skills, including ability to multi-task, continually re-prioritize, and self-manage deadlines.
- Experience in public policy, political engagement, and/or corporate and private foundations is a plus.
- Thrives in a cross functional environment and can effectively collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders and teams.
- Prior Fintech preferred; agency, brand or consultancy is relevant.
