About the Position

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Energy Market Analyst with a strong foundation in the gas markets to support our clients across the energy value chain. This individual will play a key role in delivering high-level technical solutions, guiding strategic decisions, and influencing the direction of our product roadmap based on direct market and customer insights.

You will work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Customer Success and Sales teams to support energy system analysis, modelling, forecasting, and regulatory interpretation efforts across a variety of gas and electricity market projects—including energy portfolio, energy markets   and large-load, commercial & industrial (C&I) end user customer and prospects.

Modeling & Forecasting:

  • Develop qualitative and quantitative energy analytics, econometric and forecasting models using PLEXOS (Gas & Power).
  • Simulate commercial opportunities, evaluate market risk, pursue regulatory impact studies, and optimize customer scenarios.
  • Analyze large-load requirements and perform business case evaluations (e.g., cost of ownership).

Client Solutions & Engagement:

  • Act as a trusted technical advisor for utility, C&I, regulatory clients and market participants across multiple regions.
  • Support pre-sales activities, customer onboarding, and long-term adoption of analytical solutions.
  • Present complex findings in a clear, actionable format for both technical and executive audiences.

Product & Market Influence:

  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to translate market needs into product enhancements.
  • Prioritize and communicate feature requests based on client feedback and observed industry trends.
  • Collaborate in cross-functional teams to guide product roadmap and strategy.

Regulatory & Policy Expertise:

  • Monitor and interpret regional, state and federal utility rulings, energy policies, and regulatory developments.
  • Analyze impacts of carbon reduction, emissions policy, and electrification on customer strategies.
  • Identify regional policy risks and opportunities that influence customer operations or investment.

Commercial Strategy:

  • Help drive growth through customer expansion, upsells, and the pursuit of new logos in the PLEXOS Gas market.
  • Identify opportunities in large load/C&I sectors and contribute to market expansion strategies.


Candidate Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Economics, Operations Management, Engineering, Data Science, related field
  • 5–8 years of experience in energy analytics, gas/electric market consulting, energy trading or utility resource planning position
  • Deep understanding of the gas market, including regulatory and commercial frameworks.
  • Expertise with PLEXOS or other aligned modelling experience, simulation, and scenario analysis skills.
  • Experience working in or with utility companies, particularly with both utility and consulting exposure.
  • Familiarity with ISOs (e.g., PJM), large-load dynamics
  • Excellent communication skills; capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with demand-side management, energy efficiency program design, and C&I energy use patterns.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, client-facing roles where responsiveness and adaptability are key.
  • Commercial acumen to support technical sales and identify new market opportunities.

Desired but not required

  • Strong consultative background—experience advocating for customers and representing their interests internally.
  • Awareness of differentiated software tools and how policy trends (carbon, electrification) drive solution design.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, client-facing roles where responsiveness and adaptability are key.

The salary range for this position is between $120,000-150,000 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
