About the Position 

Energy Exemplar is seeking a Team Lead, Energy Market Solutions to lead and grow our Americas Solutions team, supporting both sales execution and customer success through advanced energy market modelling and technical expertise. This is a senior, customer-facing leadership role that combines people management, technical excellence, and commercial execution. 

 

The Team Lead will be responsible for guiding a team of energy market analysts while directly engaging with prospects and customers to drive sales, support go-to-market strategies and deliver high-impact modelling and solution design. This role plays a critical part in accelerating Energy Exemplar’s growth across North America by translating complex energy market challenges into compelling, data-driven solutions using the PLEXOS platform. 

 

The position requires deep expertise in energy markets, transmission systems, and optimization-based modelling, along with strong leadership, communication, and customer engagement skills. The Team Lead will mentor and develop the team, set priorities, ensure delivery of quality, and serve as a senior subject-matter expert for customers, sales, and internal stakeholders. 

  • Develop and execute Americas GTM strategy and account plan for all existing and new accounts, execution including marketing support activities, pre-sales demos, professional service delivery. It is expected that the plan should support the Americas Sales team in the coordination and allocation of resources to achieve business objectives 
  • Lead a high-performance Solutions team in Americas, comprising Energy and Data Analysts. 
  • Build an environment that supports true innovation, thought leadership and best practice sharing. 
  • Provide leadership and coaching to the Solutions team based on knowledge of industry and vertical market trends, regional business economics and strategic issues. 
  • Engage with high-level customer and partner decision makers to understand customer business issues and bring the right resources to develop, propose and implement sound technical solutions. 
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders from across the business to support the end-to-end process from sales through to delivery, ensuring robust processes and procedures are in place for seamless delivery of Energy Exemplar’s services. 
  • Maintain strong relationships with key customers to facilitate the ongoing flow of information concerning current and new solution needs, product development initiatives and market conditions that impact solution and product development. 

 

Candidate Requirements & Qualifications 

  • 8+ years of experience with Energy Modeling and Power Market Analysis 
  • 2+ years of team and people management experience 
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience working in Utility, TSO with PLEXOS or similar simulation software tool 
  • Demonstrated experience in building fundamental energy models including Electricity Markets, Gas Systems, Renewable Energy, and emerging technologies like Hydrogen and Ammonia 
  • Strong delivery record on projects in the areas of net-zero, decarbonization and solutions for new energy technologies in Americas context 
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills 
  • Ability to communicate in multiple languages is beneficial 
  • High level of emotional intelligence 
  • Ability to communicate complex subject matter in an easy-to-understand manner 
  • Strong commercial awareness 
  • Top-down approach to problem solving with ability to see the big picture 
  • Strong interpersonal presence and skills with demonstrated ability to build rapport 
  • Strong listening and presentation skills 
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage time effectively 
  • Self-driven, results-orientated with a position outlook and focus on quality
