During the internship, you will be exposed to the day-to-day challenges of acquiring, developing, renovating and placing in service of affordable housing units across the US, among other projects in Fairstead’s pipeline.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the financial modelling of acquisition and development projects
  • Assist with due diligence activities
  • Assist with funding and regulatory applications
  • Participate in project meetings including financing, design, construction, and closing calls
  • Lead and present on multiple research projects focused on the real estate industry and affordable housing

 

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate would have a background in city planning, architecture, acquisitions, real estate development or real estate finance in the US
  • Conversant in deal underwriting and financial modeling
  • Knowledgeable in general real estate practices and principles
  • Offsite meetings will be required – including travel
