Overview

As Manager, Control Design & Assurance at Fanatics Betting & Gaming, you will contribute to the continuous enhancement of our enterprise-wide compliance framework by partnering with first-line business teams to design and strengthen compliance controls while independently validating the effectiveness of those controls, monitoring programs, and other risk mitigation measures across FBG’s operational units and product lines.

Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Enterprise Compliance, you will work closely with FBG business units and product lines to: i) advise first-line control owners on the design and implementation of practical, sustainable controls that address identified compliance risks; ii) evaluate the design and operational effectiveness of those controls; iii) identify control gaps or weaknesses; iv) recommend and coordinate remediation enhancements; and v) promote clear ownership, accountability, and transparency throughout the control lifecycle. First-line business teams will retain ownership and responsibility for executing their controls, with this role providing compliance expertise, constructive challenge, and independent assurance.

You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across FBG, including business unit and product line leaders and the Legal and Regulatory Compliance teams, to operationalize a mature, scalable compliance control design, monitoring, and testing program that proactively mitigates legal, regulatory, and ethical risks. This includes supporting new products and processes by helping first-line teams translate compliance obligations into clearly documented and operationally effective controls.

Additionally, your responsibilities will include developing, documenting, and executing a structured, risk-based compliance testing program designed to assess adherence to established policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and control expectations.

The ideal candidate is an analytical and detail-oriented professional with strong documentation skills and sound judgment. With a focus on objectivity, defensibility, and operational effectiveness, they will bring thoughtful, practical solutions to a rapidly growing organization while contributing at a hands-on level. They are comfortable partnering with the business while maintaining professional independence, challenging assumptions, identifying root causes, and driving measurable improvements across business functions.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with first-line business and product teams to translate compliance requirements, policies, and identified risks into practical, clearly documented, and sustainable controls
  • Provide guidance and constructive challenge to first-line control owners regarding control design, ownership, execution, documentation, and supporting evidence
  • Recommend opportunities to strengthen control environments through preventive, automated, or more scalable controls where appropriate
  • Develop and maintain a risk-based annual compliance testing plan aligned with the enterprise risk assessment
  • Design and execute control effectiveness testing, including both design and operational effectiveness reviews
  • Develop the documentation necessary to establish and maintain a defensible compliance testing framework, including testing methodologies, workpapers, evidence standards, and reporting protocols
  • Maintain and enhance the enterprise compliance controls inventory, ensuring controls are mapped to regulatory requirements, policies, identified risks, and accountable first-line owners
  • Issue clear, concise testing reports outlining findings, root causes, risk implications, and remediation recommendations
  • Work with first-line control owners to develop practical remediation plans that address identified weaknesses while supporting sustainable business operations
  • Oversee the tracking and independent validation of remediation efforts, escalating material or overdue issues as appropriate
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Product, Trading, Marketing, Operations, and other key business functions—to ensure control design aligns with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and operational realities
  • Identify and own key process optimization initiatives across a variety of workflows to strengthen control effectiveness and reduce compliance risk
  • Effectively manage multiple control design, monitoring, and testing projects with clear and consistent communication
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support new product launches and material business changes by advising on control design and evaluating control readiness and compliance risk mitigation
  • Conduct targeted compliance investigations arising from testing findings or control failures, including documenting root cause analyses and validating corrective actions
  • Provide ongoing compliance control design and monitoring guidance across the business
  • Promote a culture in which first-line teams understand and actively own their compliance risks and controls

  • 3+ years of experience in compliance testing, internal audit, risk management, control design, or quality assurance within a regulated industry
  • Experience partnering with first-line business teams to design, implement, document, or enhance internal controls
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, risk-based testing methodologies, control ownership, and remediation management
  • Comfort using AI tools and implementing AI-enabled solutions to improve control design, monitoring, testing, or documentation

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
