The role in 60 seconds

  • Team: Private Client (Tax & Succession)
  • Location: Hybrid working from Exeter, Plymouth, Bristol, or Southampton
  • Working Pattern: Full-time / Part-time 

Why this role matters: This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified solicitor (1PQE+) to join our growing Private Wealth Practice Group, specifically within our UK Tax and Succession team. You’ll advise high-net-worth individuals, many with rural estates, on a wide range of private client matters, including probate, wills, tax planning, and trusts. You’ll work closely with experienced colleagues in a supportive environment, with the autonomy to manage your own matters and the opportunity to mentor junior team members. We’ll support your development and help you build your profile, while encouraging you to engage in business development and networking.

What you’ll do

In this role, you’ll:

  • Advise on probate administration, will drafting, and estate planning
  • Work with clients who own rural estates and complex assets
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the wider Private Wealth team
  • Build long-term relationships and deliver exceptional client service
  • Engage in business development and networking to grow your presence

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a client-focused environment and brings:

  • A minimum of 1+ PQE in private client work
  • Solid experience in wills, probate, trusts, and tax planning
  • A strong technical understanding of UK tax and succession law
