About The Role

G2 is seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Technical Consulting to lead and shape a global team at the forefront of innovation. Reporting to the VP of Solutions and Customer Success, and as part of the revenue team, you will manage three key areas:

  • Solution Consulting: Oversee six global solution consultants working alongside the G2’s sales team to win new business with value, product, and data led consulting.
  • Implementation Consulting: Lead three implementation consultants who guide customers in maximizing their G2 experience through seamless integrations and partnerships post-sale.
  • Technical Consulting: Build and launch a cutting-edge technical consulting practice to drive G2’s go-to-market strategy by leveraging its data for custom use cases and paid solutions. The practice will offer advisory and hands-on services to integrate G2’s solutions into customer environments, providing tailored consulting, custom workflows, and strategic insights. This approach will maximize customer value from G2’s data, boosting satisfaction, retention, and upsell opportunities. Additionally, premium professional services will include consulting on complex integrations and developing custom solutions that extend G2’s API capabilities into unique customer use cases, with a focus on exploring AI LLM’s technical consulting for innovative applications.

In this pivotal role, you’ll collaborate with the VP of Partnerships, Product, Engineering, and Marketing to design and execute a pilot offering that will transform G2’s approach to technical consulting. You will also have the chance to leverage cutting-edge platforms for customer value assessments and help shape the team’s future direction. In This Role, You Will: 

  • Lead the strategic development and implementation of technical consulting services, focusing initially on a pilot and evolving into broader, sustained solutions.
  • Collaborate extensively with the VP of Partnerships, Product teams, and Engineering to leverage G2’s API library for creating customer-centric solutions.
  • Partner with Product Marketing to define and shape pilot offerings that align with market demands and G2's strategic goals.
  • Design and oversee the integration of technical solutions that enhance customer engagement and satisfaction through the effective use of G2’s APIs.
  • Drive the recruitment and development of additional resources based on the demand and success of initial offerings.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration across teams to ensure that the services delivered are cutting-edge and of high quality.
  • Define and track key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the technical consulting function and adjust strategies as needed.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of engineering, with a strong understanding of APIs and integrations to drive early-stage technical consulting efforts in collaboration with product and marketing.
  • 5+ years of experience working with Enterprise customers in areas such as technical readiness, solution development, account management, and technical support (on-premise and remote).
  • Consultation experience with customers where you can help guide them forward with G2’s platform, data, or partnerships that might be unique to their own specific business footprint.
  • Able to translate and document specific needs and requirements to the product and engineering team.
  • Proficient in multiple languages, preferably Ruby and JavaScript, with a core understanding of web architecture and experience in logging and instrumentation services.
  • Deep knowledge of software architectures and best practices across languages.
  • Strong presentation and evangelism skills, with experience leading through events and customer engagements.
  • Proven ability to motivate and guide internal and external stakeholders.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, growing team environment, excelling under pressure and eager to take on responsibility.

What Can Help Your Application Stand Out:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and experience   
  • Hands-on experience solving B2B Software customer problems
  • Consulting and/or Professional Services experience
  • Experience and knowledge around Martech and Salestech
  • A strong grasp of web/data architecture, expertise in logging and instrumentation services, and familiarity with tools like Sigma. A demonstrated ability to implement scalable, efficient solutions and optimize systems for performance and reliability will set a candidate apart.
