The role:
Galileo’s Risk Intelligence team is responsible for executing Galileo’s Risk and Fraud services. 
The Director of Risk Intelligence will have the responsibility managing Galileo’s Strategy, Operational Fraud, and Fraud Investigation Unit teams located domestically and in Mexico. The role will be tasked to iterate on Galileo’s Fraud Strategy while overseeing teams focused on initial and more detailed fraud investigations. This role will ensure that the teams have consistent investigation standards, standardized SOPs, and identifying and incorporating automation tools to enhance efficacy, efficiency, and driving accountability. You will partner with multiple teams to drive operational excellence in the first line of defense in the fraud prevention domain. The Director of Risk Intelligence reports directly to the Head of Cardholder Services. 
Drive fraud assessment, implementation and data driven insights for continuous monitoring of fraud strategy efficiency in the execution of managing fraud risk
Manage a change management process to ensure updates are executed without error, and audit records are maintained. Create and implement effective mandates and SOPs for fraud incident responding 
Oversee end-to-end fraud management, including transactional, money-movement and onboarding strategy design and configuration in appropriate prevention platforms. Manage operational support by participating in forecasting and capacity planning
Manage and escalate fraud losses or potential exposure by reviewing fraud attacks to understand and address coverage gaps
Drive process change management, leveraging data to drive insights and improvement by partnering with Operations analytics.
Analyze and evaluate program risks and manage program implementations with management and stakeholders
Work with Operations, Product, Engineering, Data, external vendors and other key internal teams to embed fraud prevention measures into products and services. Ensure existing and future fraud solutions are meeting industry and company standards
Manage a team of fraud partners to remediate preventative projects to address short- and long-term fraudulent initiatives and programs
Lead and coach investigators on productivity while driving accountability and efficacy.
Identify opportunities for financial recovery through other financial institutions or law enforcement.
Drive Drive process change management, leveraging data to drive insights and improvement by partnering with Operations analytics.
Lead and coach investigators on productivity while driving accountability and efficacy.
Identify opportunities to reduce fraud risk while delivering a better customer experience.
Partner with workforce management to balance cost and capacity to meet established SLAs.
Identify opportunities for financial recovery through other financial institutions or law enforcement.
Develop and implement training across investigations to ensure the delivery of consistent high-quality products.
Partnering with Quality Assurance teams to independently validate high-quality delivery.
Provide feedback to the policy team on emerging fraud patterns, and validate identified exposure points either through message board or escalation.
Support Legal and complaints on referral cases.


What you’ll do: 
Teamwork is Job 1: daily critical collaboration is necessary to support Galileo’s fraud and risk products adherence to multiple program standards with internal and external partners to exchange insights and best practices in fraud prevention. This is the conduit to execution of our Fraud Strategies and a critical feedback loop balances risk with customer experience.

Data Driven: Collaborate with multiple teams to help architect the future of Fraud with analytically based assessment and deployment capabilities.
Challenge Status Quo: constantly evaluate the adequacy of operational procedure and put in place a process to optimize cost, customer experience, and team morale; re-evaluate technological infrastructure to continuously optimize the client and customer experience while balancing firm risk.
Drive Performance Outcomes: Design effective controls that ensure operational risks are proactively identified and escalated, actively managed, clearly quantified and measured to drive accountability.
Risk Controllership: Independently review and challenge material estimates and/or the processes that provide estimates used in managing the process and capacity and ensure remediation playbooks are developed and executable to protect the firm from reputational, operational, or financial loss.
Be a Fraud Prevention Investigation SME: Serve as a subject matter expert for Fraud Prevention Investigation – including process, processes, controls, and KPIs. Optimal team performance and ensure customer Security is maintained across fraud attempts/attacks and use excellent verbal, written, and analytic skills to articulate fraud risks across the organization.

What you’ll need:
8+ years of hands-on experience in fraud prevention, investigations, or related cyber-crime environments, with a strong background in complex fraud operations
Strongly Preferred: Extensive work in Fraud strategy and operations and using data to drive operational excellence.
Fraud investigation experience is a plus.
