Position Summary
General Atlantic is looking to hire an Analyst to support the Tax and Family Office team, which is responsible for overseeing tax planning, estate planning, insurance, and financial reporting for the Senior Managing Directors (current and former) and their families. The Analyst will work closely in support of all team members and will work across all functional areas, including, but not limited to, tax planning, estate planning, and reporting.
This role will support a range of administrative and analytical tasks within the Tax and Family Office team. Key responsibilities include assisting with the collection and tracking of individual tax data, organizing tax-related documents, supporting the preparation of quarterly reports, managing electronic records retention, liaising with internal and external counterparts, and providing assistance with additional projects as required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with maintaining annual tax organizers and communicating this data to tax advisors.
- Assist with gathering and organizing quarterly income tax data for estimated tax payments.
- Track and coordinate delivery of notices from IRS and other jurisdictions to tax accountants.
- Perform monthly cash reconciliations of multiple bank accounts for Managing Directors.
- Manage the organization, tracking, and secure storage of electronic files.
- Assist with the preparation of estate tax analysis for quarterly reporting, cash flow planning, and insurance purposes.
- Work with spreadsheet-based models to assist with estate planning decision making.
- Retrieve and organize bank and brokerage statements, outside alternative investment capital account statements, and other financial data for quarterly report preparation.
- Work closely with the Associate of the Tax and Family Office to prepare quarterly reporting, including the input and review of data into Maestro, a digital platform.
- Assist with the tracking of philanthropic pledges and payments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least two years of experience in public accounting, finance, or in a family office required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat required.
- Strong self-starter who is comfortable working in a high-paced, responsive, client-focused environment.
- Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work well within a small team.
- Multitasker with strong communication skills and ability to set priorities and coordinate with team members accordingly.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Curious with a strong desire to learn.
