About This Role
We are seeking a skilled CAD drafter to support design and engineering by creating, revising, and organizing technical drawings and schematics for a nuclear fuel cycle facility. This position plays a key role in transforming conceptual designs into detailed technical drawings and models. You will collaborate closely with our engineering, design, and project management teams to create accurate, high-quality deliverables using industry-leading tools like AutoCAD, Solidworks, Revit, or similar. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary environment, contributing to safe and efficient engineering solutions in advanced energy production. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a foundational understanding of drafting and design principles and a willingness to learn and grow within the field.
Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings using CAD and BIM software, ensuring precision and adherence to project specifications.
- Create and maintain BIM models for various stages of the project lifecycle, including design, construction, and documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to translate design concepts into technical drawings and models.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and company procedures in all drafting and modeling tasks.
- Ensure proper design control, revision control, and configuration management of drawing sets.
- Stay updated on the latest CAD and BIM tools, trends, and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Drafting, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant competence and experience may be considered as an alternative to this requirement.
- Experience with structural drafting and modeling using Revit, AutoCAD, or other software.
- Strong understanding of design and construction documentation processes.
- Ability to complete and manage drawing sets for large and/or complex systems.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Evidence of exceptional ability (prior projects, portfolio of work, completed products, etc.)
- Experience in a fast-paced engineering environment or a highly technical role requiring a resourceful, entrepreneurial approach to complete tasks within tight timeframes or budget constraints.
- Experience with nuclear facility regulations and construction.
- Familiarity with BIM standards and workflows (e.g., IFC, COBie) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of applicable regulations, design specifications, codes, and standards.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.
