About This Role

We are seeking a skilled Industrial CAD drafter to support design and engineering by creating, revising, and organizing technical drawings and schematics for a nuclear fuel cycle facility. You will ensure that all drawings adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and facility safety guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Design Support: Assist mechanical, civil, and electrical engineers in the preparation of technical drawings for modifications, maintenance, and new installations.
  • BIM & 3D Modeling: Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) techniques to optimize design accuracy and efficiency when applicable.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to translate design concepts into technical drawings and models.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, company procedures, and facility-specific design criteria in all drafting and modeling tasks.
  • Drawing Revisions & Updates: Ensure proper design control, revision control, and configuration management of drawing sets.
  • Document Management: Maintain and update engineering drawings to reflect as-built conditions and document facility modifications. Organize and maintain drawing files, including revisions, approvals, and historical records in compliance with document control procedures.
  • Stay updated on the latest CAD and BIM tools, trends, and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Field Verification: Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions, take measurements, and ensure designs align with facility needs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Drafting, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant competence and experience may be considered as an alternative to this requirement.
  • Experience with structural drafting and modeling for an industrial, manufacturing, process facility (or similar) using Revit, AutoCAD, or other software.
  • Strong understanding of industrial facility design and construction documentation processes.
  • Ability to complete and manage drawing sets for large and/or complex systems.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Evidence of exceptional ability (prior projects, portfolio of work, completed products, etc.)
  • Experience in a fast-paced engineering environment or a highly technical role requiring a resourceful, entrepreneurial approach to complete tasks within tight timeframes or budget constraints.
  • Experience with nuclear facility regulations and construction.
  • Familiarity with BIM standards and workflows (e.g., IFC, COBie) is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations, design specifications, codes, and standards.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.
