About The Role
As Built continues to grow, we are exposed to a broader range of external stakeholders, regulators, and reporting requirements. The Corporate Accounting team is responsible for managing the close process and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and transparency of financial information for all our stakeholders. The Senior Accountant will support excellence in financial reporting and accounting operations, ensuring financial integrity, operational excellence, and an innovative approach to financial management. You will support all aspects of the monthly and quarterly close processes, and technical accounting policies that safeguard our general ledger and financial reporting structures. This role embodies Built’s mission to connect and simplify doing business in real estate by ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and forward-thinking in all financial and accounting activities.
What You’ll Do:
- Prepares journal entries, analysis, account reconciliations, and schedules for close, timely, and with complete support in accordance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls over financial reporting
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements: monthly, quarterly, annually
- Support analysis and process improvements to drive best-in-class accounting operations and be data-driven
- Prepare monthly trend analysis, or analysis as required; partner with the Finance team to analyze financial variances across business units
- Collaborate cross-functionally to communicate complex accounting concepts effectively
- Support audits and regulatory requirements, including the preparation of schedules and footnotes, working closely with external auditors and internal teams
- Strengthen internal controls and accounting policies, ensuring financial accuracy and integrity
- Identify process improvement and automation opportunities to drive positive change across the organization, to increase efficiency and scalability
- Partner with teams across Built to simplify financial processes, provide insights that drive better decision-making and elevate financial understanding across the company.
- Prepare and file compliance reporting, which could include state and local sales and property taxes, as well as other local jurisdictional requirements
- Perform more difficult, judgmental account/transaction evaluations as needed
Ideal Profile and What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; active CPA required
- 4–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in public accounting (Big 4 experience strongly preferred) and 2+ years of industry (preferably within a high-growth or SaaS environment)
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
- Proven ability to explain technical accounting issues to non-financial stakeholders
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Experience with Salesforce and NetSuite is a plus
- Comfortable in a dynamic, high-growth environment with a solutions-oriented mindset
- Operational expertise; knowledge of general ledger operations, preparation of JEs with adequate support, analysis with complete and accurate data, compliance with policies and procedures and internal controls
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment where growth and professionalism will be achieved largely through accuracy, creativity, high integrity, reasoned and thoughtful judgment, sense of urgency, a balance between strategic and tactical skills and a willingness to "roll up one's sleeves" and get into the details
- Must show a strong work ethic; be proactive and work collaboratively with other team members
- A passion for automation, technology, and improving workflows

Built’s salary range for this position is $105,000 - $120,000 USD per year. The pay range is designed to accommodate upward mobility in the role, therefore it encompasses the full span of proficiency levels for this role and we believe that the midpoint of the range is competitive in the market. Salary is just one component of Built's total compensation package for employees.
