CLM Administrator

GitLab is seeking an experienced CLM Administrator to join our Enterprise Applications team. This role will be integral in maintaining and optimizing our Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system to support streamlined business processes, ensuring adherence to compliance standards, and enabling efficiency across various business units. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, effective communication skills, and a proven ability to deliver in a fast-paced, remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Technical Delivery: Administer, configure, and maintain CLM systems and contract management software to support GitLab business processes, ensuring compliance with SOX-compliant change management.
- Process Improvement: Identify, recommend, and implement enhancements within the CLM system. Translate business requirements into technical specifications and document updated processes clearly in the company handbook.
- Team Dynamics: Lead or partner with a larger CRM team and contractors.
- Business Acumen: Demonstrate a strong understanding of core business processes relevant to Contract Lifecycle Management, including Quote-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay cycles, and maintain continuous learning in these areas.
- Business Engagement: Engage collaboratively with internal stakeholders to understand their strategic objectives. Regularly communicate with business partners to ensure CLM functionality aligns with operational requirements and supports optimization efforts.
- Compliance: Support data security, compliance, legal, and governance processes. Ensure alignment between internal business units and CLM configurations to maintain efficient, compliant technical delivery.
- Project Management: Lead small to medium-sized projects designed to enhance CLM functionality, improve data insights, and increase organizational efficiency.
- Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve technical issues within the CLM system, addressing challenges of moderate complexity.
- Development & Code Management: Configure technical solutions within CLM adhering to internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices. Conduct thorough code reviews according to established guidelines to ensure quality and responsiveness.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline; or equivalent professional experience.
- 2-3 years of systems administration experience, specifically with hands-on expertise in CLM systems.
- Familiarity with GitLab for technical project management and documentation.
- Experience with enterprise systems such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Zuora, Coupa, or Workday, Docusign and Ironclad is beneficial.
- Experience in a public company environment, with familiarity in SOX and IT General Controls (ITGC), is preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fully remote, self-managed environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, customer-centric mindset, and the capability to effectively manage business and technology relationships.
- Strong organizational skills, with exceptional time management and the ability to prioritize effectively under pressure.
- Commitment to strict confidentiality and high standards for data security.
About the team
The Enterprise Applications team is responsible for GitLab’s critical business applications, including Salesforce, Docusign, Zuora, Netsuite, and many others. This team will be an important part of GitLab’s ability to scale as an organization. This includes introducing new system features and capabilities while maintaining the existing production environment for scalability and compliance.

The base salary range for this role’s listed level is currently for residents of listed locations only. Grade level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. See more information on our benefits and equity. Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary.

$81,200 - $174,000 USD
