The Opportunity
We’re looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Associate, Financial & Legal Operations to create and manage processes that allow for seamless functioning of the Finance and Legal departments. You’ll be instrumental in improving workflows, reducing manual processes, and enabling operational excellence. Your work will drive clarity and efficiency in our day-to-day operations, ensuring timely financial actions and supporting legal compliance.
This role reports to the Head of Finance & Business Operations, and is a hybrid role with three days a week onsite at our office in Midtown Manhattan.
What You’ll Own
Finance responsibilities:
- Create and manage coupon codes in internal systems
- Approve payroll in coordination with internal processes
- Follow up on unpaid invoices with both internal and external counterparts
- Review and approve accounts payable payments
- Respond to budget-related inquiries from internal stakeholders
- Add team members to corporate credit card systems
- Review and process reimbursement submissions
- Helping manage Jira tickets for Data Analytics
Legal responsibilities:
- Input contracts and documents into DocuSign and track progress
- Follow up with all relevant parties to ensure completion of signatures
- Save and organize signed documents in designated folders
- Coordinate timelines and deliverables with external legal counsel
- Manage internal stakeholders for review and feedback on commercial terms
- Develop and maintain internal guides for best-in-class contracting processes
- Day-to-day responsibilities may shift with business needs but remain similar in nature to those listed above.
Your Skills & Experience
- Recent graduate to 2 years out of college with relevant experience from internships, school activities, or prior work experience
- Demonstrated academic achievement
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, detail-driven workflows
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
- Strong problem-solving skills, especially with respect to process optimization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive financial and legal information with discretion and integrity
- Comfortable working independently and owning responsibilities end-to-end
- Experience or interest in leveraging AI tools for productivity gains
- Proven track record through internships, academic projects, or early work experience in similar fields
