The Opportunity
Good Inside is seeking a Full-Stack Engineer to join our Growth Pod, where you’ll have a significant impact in helping hundreds of thousands of parents discover life-changing solutions to their most pressing issues. In this role, you’ll own critical pieces of our payment infrastructure—from designing secure, reliable payment flows to integrating with external partners—and build features that drive user acquisition. This role is a hybrid position with three days a week in our Manhattan office.
What You’ll Own
- End-to-End Feature Delivery: Plan, estimate, implement, test, and support features that span both mobile clients and backend services.
- API & Data Design: Define and build RESTful or GraphQL endpoints; design data models and storage strategies to support new product requirements.
- Mobile Client Development: Build and maintain native mobile experiences (iOS and/or Android), ensuring high performance, maintainability, and test coverage.
- Backend Services: Develop and maintain scalable, reliable backend services and integrations using our core technologies (e.g. Python/Node, FastAPI, Django, or similar).
- Payment Infrastructure Ownership: Design, build, and operate secure, compliant payment flows and integrations at scale.
- Quality & Reliability: Embed testing at every layer (unit, integration, end-to-end), advocate for observability, and help drive incident response and post-mortem processes.
Your Skills & Experience
- 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience (or equivalent).
- Effective communicator: able to translate complex technical concepts to product managers, designers, and other engineering teams.
- Proven track record shipping cross-stack features independently and with a small team.
- Strong proficiency in at least one backend framework (e.g. FastAPI, Flask, Django, Express).
- Proficient in using SQLAlchemy (or equivalent ORM) for database schema design, migrations, and data modeling.
- Deep familiarity with native mobile (Swift/Objective-C or Kotlin/Java) and/or cross-platform mobile frameworks (React Native, Flutter).
- Solid understanding of performance, scalability, and maintainability—from database schema design through mobile UI responsiveness.
- Hands-on experience with testing strategies (unit/integration/E2E) and CI/CD pipelines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Nice to Have
- Flutter & Dart experience (bonus, but not required).
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Experience building production React apps.
- Contributions to open source or public tech talks/blog posts.
- Prior mentorship or interview experience.
