The Opportunity
To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a Marketing Manager to join our Lifecycle Marketing team. This role will lead strategies that improve customer retention and drive subscription renewals for Grammarly’s self-serve users. You’ll be responsible for crafting data-informed, multi-channel journeys that reduce churn, increase subscriber engagement, and deliver long-term customer value.
You’ll work closely with cross-functional partners across Product, Data Science, Engineering, and Design to build scalable, automated programs that improve renewal outcomes. This is a high-impact role with direct influence on company growth, customer experience, and product monetization.
In this role, you will:
- Drive the end-to-end strategy and execution of renewal, payments and churn-reduction lifecycle programs
- Optimize multi-channel campaigns (email, in-product, push) to improve user engagement and renewal rates. Experience with paid ads is a plus.
- Implement segmentation, targeting, and personalization strategies that influence retention outcomes.
- Have experience leveraging incentives, discounts , offers and content marketing tactics.
- Partner with Analytics to define success metrics, measure impact, and surface insights
- Apply experimentation and A/B testing to validate hypotheses and improve program performance
- Shape the broader lifecycle monetization strategy in collaboration with cross-functional teams
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in lifecycle, CRM, or retention marketing, ideally in a SaaS or product-led growth environment in a subscription business. Multi-product experience is a plus.
- Proficient in customer retention, monetization, and renewal strategies
- Experience with marketing automation tools (e.g., Iterable) and lifecycle experimentation
- Comfortable working with data, including tools like SQL or Databricks
- Track record of effective collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams
- Familiar with executing multi-channel campaigns across email, in-product, and push channels
- Clear and confident communicator, able to articulate strategies and outcomes
- Capable of balancing strategic priorities with hands-on execution
