Job Summary

Reporting to the Modelling Team Leader, the Staff Engineer is responsible for supporting the delivery of software models of the next generation platforms to allow early software development.  They will work in close conjunction with our partners, the hardware and silicon teams on upcoming changes and also with the software teams who will be using the models

The Team

This is an exciting opportunity to join an existing team at Graphcore who have already developed models for the current platform. The team will be supporting existing models and also updating the models for future platforms and also creating new models as appropriate.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Support and maintain models developed for the current platforms.
  • Development of new features and models for future platforms.
  • Creating designs, implementing features, unit testing implementations.
  • Collaborate with members of other teams.
  • Actively engage in and support Agile ways of working within the team.
  • Debug issues, resolve bugs and generally improve the quality and functionality of the models.
  • Support the team leader and technical leader when asked.

Candidate Profile 

Essential:

  • Excellent C and C++ programming experience.
  • Understanding of computer architectures.
  • Experience of development in Python.
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, good work ethics, high sense of team-work.
  • Proactive, self-driven, and committed to delivering high-quality solutions.

Desirable

  • Experience of developing software models of hardware.
  • Demonstrable understanding of software optimisations.
