The Group Sales Director is a senior sales leadership role responsible for owning revenue, performance, and culture across GumGum’s New England and NYC Metro independent agency business. This leader will oversee a team of sellers, manage a $20M+ annual revenue target, and serve as a key senior presence for GumGum in market.

This role is accountable for driving growth across existing agency partnerships, developing new independent agency relationships, and ensuring sellers operate with strong discipline across pipeline management, forecasting, and deal execution. The Group Sales Director is expected to set the operating standard for the region while navigating change, new products, and evolving go to market priorities.

Note: GumGum fosters a flexible work environment, offering GumGummers the ability to work either in-office or remotely/from home. However, for occasional in-person collaboration, we kindly ask that this position be located within a 'commutable' distance to our office.

What You'll Achieve

  • Sales Team Leadership and Performance 
    • Lead, coach, and develop a team of sellers to consistently hit and exceed revenue targets
    • Set clear expectations around activity, pipeline coverage, deal strategy, and execution
    • Drive a strong performance management cadence including goal setting, regular 1:1s, and direct feedback
    • Proactively address underperformance while investing deeply in top and emerging talent
    • Recruit, onboard, and retain high performing sellers as the business grows
  • Revenue Growth & Market Execution
    • Own growth across New England and NYC Metro independent agencies spanning HoldCo, independent, and brand direct relationships
    • Drive senior level introductions and expand GumGum’s footprint within agencies and brands
    • Develop and execute JBPs with top agency and brand partners
    • Partner with sellers on strategic deal making including packaging, pricing, and internal advocacy
    • Ensure strong adoption and fluency across GumGum Mindset, Omnichannel, and outcomes driven solutions
    • Represent GumGum at regional industry events
  • Client and Internal Collaboration 
    • Serve as a senior escalation point for agency and client relationships
    • Partner closely with Client Strategists, Account Managers, Marketing, Sales Ops, and Finance
    • Provide consistent feedback to internal teams on product, pricing, and market needs
    • Ensure proposals and programs align with client expectations and deliver measurable impact
  • Culture and Leadership
    • Set the tone for the region by staying above the noise and keeping the team focused on priorities
    • Maintain focus by reinforcing clarity, transparency, and accountability
    • Model executive presence internally and externally
    • Role model GumGum values, behaviors, and ethical leadership

Skills You'll Bring

  • 7+ years of individual contributor selling in digital media or advertising sales 
  • 3+ years managing and developing teams responsible for $15M+ in annual revenue 
  • Proven track record hitting or exceeding sales targets with agency and brand clients 
  • Experience across New England and/or NYC Metro independent agency markets strongly preferred 
  • Extensive knowledge of the digital media landscape across CTV, Display, OLV, Data, Measurement, Platforms
  • Account planning (regional growth analysis, quota setting, etc.) experience required 
  • Programmatic experience required 
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and performance management skills 
  • Deep understanding of agency dynamics and buying structures 
  • Strategic account planning and forecasting discipline (Salesforce)
  • Strategic account planning 
  • Strong deal negotiation and internal advocacy skills
  • Executive level written and verbal communication skills 
  • Highly organized with strong prioritization and follow through 
  • Analytical mindset with comfort interpreting revenue and performance data
  • Bachelor's Degree

What We Offer

At GumGum, competitive base pay is a part of a total rewards package which also includes benefits, an emphasis on recognition, development, and wellness. The reasonable estimated OTE (base + commission) range for this role is from $381,000 - $439,000 annually. The actual amount may be higher or lower. Individual compensation will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant qualifications, work location, and labor market conditions.
