About the Role:

Gusto is a Payroll, Benefits, and HR software provider serving small business owners. We are expanding into payroll services and are seeking experienced Payroll Specialists to help build the payroll services team from the ground up.

About the Team:

Join us as we build something from the ground up. You will have the opportunity to make a significant difference for small businesses without payroll resources, giving them peace of mind and time to grow. You will also gain a broad range of experience as an HR consultant.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned small business clients.
  • Process payrolls for clients using Quickbooks Payroll, Paychex, and Gusto.
  • Handle payroll end-to-end for clients, including multi-state payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Reconcile payroll data and resolve discrepancies.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and taxes.
  • Collaborate with HR, Accounting, and other departments.
  • Speak with prospective clients about the service.

Here’s what we're looking for:

  • 8+ years of experience in payroll, HR, or related field.
  • Previous payroll or HR consulting experience preferred.
  • Track record of helping clients improve and automate payroll processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • CPP certification preferred.

Our cash compensation amount for this role is $94,000/yr - $116,000/yr in Denver & most major metro locations, and $114,000/yr to $135,000/yr for San Francisco, Seattle & New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.

Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.

Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas. 

When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required.
