VP of Sales, AI Products

San Francisco, California

About Hightouch

Hightouch is the modern AI platform for marketing and growth teams. Our AI agents reimagine marketing workflows, allowing marketers to create content, plan campaigns, and execute strategies with transformational velocity and performance.

Hightouch is a rare company built on the intersection of two fundamental technological shifts: advances in LLMs and agentic AI, and the creation and rapid adoption of cloud data warehouses like Snowflake and Databricks. Building on these tailwinds, we’ve become a leader in AI marketing and partner with industry leaders like Domino’s, Chime, Spotify, Ramp, Whoop, Grammarly, and over 1000 others.

Our team focuses on making a meaningful impact for our customers. We approach challenges with first-principles thinking, move quickly and efficiently, and treat each other with compassion and kindness. We look for team members who are strong communicators, have a growth mindset, and are motivated and persistent in achieving our goals.

About the Role

We're building a new AI products business at Hightouch, and we need someone to own the entire go-to-market motion from the ground up. As VP of Sales for AI products, you'll hire and lead a team of Account Executives, close early deals yourself, and figure out how to sell something genuinely new. You'll work directly with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success to test messaging, learn from customers, and build the playbook as you go.

This isn't about stepping into an existing machine; it's about building the machine. You'll be refining positioning with every deal, coaching your team through uncharted territory, and proving product-market fit in real time. You'll also shape how businesses think about adopting AI decisioning, which means you're creating a category, not just executing in one that already exists.

We're looking for someone who's already built early-stage sales teams at high-growth SaaS companies and is energized by ambiguity, not paralyzed by it. You're a builder at heart. You love translating a big vision into compelling customer stories. You're equally excited to roll up your sleeves on deals and to coach others to win. You're scrappy, resourceful, and thrive when the playbook is constantly evolving.

What this looks like:

  • Building and leading a foundational sales team for AI products, hiring, coaching, and developing Account Executives from scratch
  • Closing early enterprise deals yourself to prove the motion works and establish best practices
  • Refining the sales playbook in real time—testing messaging, learning from losses, and iterating on what resonates
  • Partnering closely with Product and Engineering to shape what we build based on what you're hearing in the market
  • Working with Marketing to develop positioning, content, and campaigns that drive the pipeline
  • Experimenting with and adapting sales methodologies (MEDDPICC, Command of the Message) rather than rigidly following a process
  • Translating technical AI concepts into clear business value for executive buyers
  • Recruiting top sales talent constantly, building your bench before you have headcount
  • Providing strategic input to leadership on GTM strategy, pricing, packaging, and product direction

This role is probably right for you if:

  • You've led software sales teams for 5+ years, with at least 2+ years leading Enterprise-focused teams
  • You've built and scaled early-stage sales teams at high-growth SaaS companies, you know what it takes to go from 0 to 1
  • You have a track record of closing complex enterprise deals yourself and coaching reps through them
  • You're comfortable with ambiguity and experimentation, you don't need a proven playbook to be effective
  • You're curious and technically fluent enough to learn AI, data platforms, or ML-driven products and explain them in business terms
  • You're a strong cross-functional collaborator who works hand-in-hand with Product and Marketing
  • You're passionate about people leadership, motivating, mentoring, and recruiting top talent
  • You love category creation and get energized by building something genuinely new

This role is probably NOT right for you if:

  • You want to manage an established team with a proven playbook
  • You're uncomfortable getting into deals yourself or need clear processes before you can be effective
  • You prefer executing someone else's strategy rather than building your own
  • You're not interested in AI or learning technical concepts
  • You see your role as purely management rather than hands-on building

Why this matters at Hightouch:

AI products represent a massive opportunity for Hightouch, and you'll have real autonomy to build the business. You'll work directly with founders and executive leadership, influence product direction, and define how an entirely new category gets sold.

If building a sales organization from scratch, proving product-market fit, and creating a new category sounds like your thing, let's talk.

Compensation Details:
  • Base Salary Range: $200,000-$215,000 annually
  • On-Target Earning Range: $400,000-$430,000 annually
We also offer meaningful equity compensation in the form of ISO options and offer early exercise and a 10-year post-termination exercise window.
