Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Power BI Analyst to join our dynamic Group Commercial Finance team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing, maintaining, and managing advanced reporting solutions using Microsoft Power BI, Azure, and T-SQL. This role demands a balance of strong analytical abilities, business understanding, and technical expertise to generate insights that drive strategic business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis & Reporting
- Develop and manage Business Intelligence (BI) solutions, including Power BI reports and data models.
- Prepare views and tables in the Group Data Warehouse to support Power BI reporting using T-SQL.
- Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective Power BI solutions.
- Data Integration
- Perform Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) operations to integrate data from various sources into Power BI.
- Ensure seamless integration of Power BI with other data tools and systems for comprehensive data analysis.
- Report Development
- Design, build, and deploy interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all reports and dashboards.
- Optimize Power BI reports for performance and usability.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with business units, data engineers, and IT teams to ensure accurate reporting and seamless data flow.
- Present findings and insights to stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.
- Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI tools and best practices.
- Maintenance & Improvement
- Monitor and maintain existing Power BI solutions to ensure they remain up-to-date and relevant.
- Continuously improve Power BI solutions based on user feedback and evolving business requirements.
- Stay informed of the latest Power BI features and industry trends, applying them to enhance reporting solutions.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Power BI Analyst or in a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI Report Server.
- Experience in data modelling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and M language.
- Strong SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and their BI services.
- Experience with Python or R for data analysis.
- Knowledge of machine learning and predictive analytics is a plus.

- Ability to analyse and interpret complex data sets.
