Cost Analyst
Work Location: Huntsville, AL
Schedule: Full Time 40 hours per week; 8 hours per day in office (remote work is not authorized)

IronMountain Solutions is seeking a Cost Analyst who will sit at our corporate office in direct support of a government contract and will help prepare budgets and schedules for contract work and assist with financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlooks, cash forecasting and variance analysis. The Cost Analyst will ensure adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing preparation for expenditure projections and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government.
Job Responsibilities:
- Set up cost control systems, monitor and control costs and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control system.
- Support audits and reviews requested by programs, customers, and company management, fact-finding and negotiation support.
- Perform analysis and prepare reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines.
- Perform Earned Value Metric (EVM) tasks including Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) development, budget baseline, cost risk analysis/assessment and visibility reports, development and analysis of estimates to complete.
- Budget, manage and approve employees’ direct travel requests to ensure compliance with company policy and procedures, JTR/FTR and contract requirements.
- Will be responsible for performing other duties as assigned for the contract.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with financial analysis and reporting within the government defense industry.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use tools or controls; normal physical activity (reach with hands and arms; climb stairs); and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and leadership. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.
Education and General Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business Administration or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- A minimum of 3 years of direct professional experience required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance is desired
- Earn Value Management (EVM) experience preferred
Clearance Requirements: The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance is required. Per federal requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this level of clearance.
