IronMountain Solutions is seeking a Security Specialist to support our United States Government customer in Huntsville, AL. This position will support DoD organizations or DoD contractors. This position requires the candidate to already possess a Secret Security Clearance (Active). Per federal requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this level of clearance.
This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPēD) Certification Program. This is the Department of Defense (DoD) Security Certification Program directed by DoD Instruction 3305.13. It is approved by the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs for use in the Army via the following memorandum: Memorandum, Assistant Secretary of Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs, dated 8 September 2015, subject: Security Professional Education Development (SPēD) Certification Program. The SPēD certification is DoD's initiative to professionalize the security workforce by establishing a common set of competencies for security practitioners that promotes interoperability, facilitates professional development and training, and develops a workforce of certified security professionals. This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPēD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
Minimum Position requirements:
- Security Specialist will assist in all Areas of Security
- Complete/receive Visit Requests in DISS.
- Work closely with contracts personnel to develop, renew, and track all DD254s.
- Review Statement of Work (SOW) and Performance Work Statement (PWS) for AT/OPSEC requirements.
- Review all Public Releases articles and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) CUI Releases for OPSEC content and prevent unauthorized disclosure of information.
- Verify security clearances on database/ access requests, assist employees working with G2 to complete e-QIP/SF86 for clearance renewals/updates and SCI access on required employees.
- Conduct in/out processing of personnel, coordinate with Operations for Taskers on both NIPR and SIPR.
- Track security related mandatory training for UHPO personnel, assist in annual audits, and Staff Assistance Visits (SAV).
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to update Security Classification Guides (SCG) and assist/support classified meetings with UHPO.
- Willing to attend training for Level II AT, Level II OPSEC, and Industry Security Specialist (ISS)
- Provide general multidiscipline security support to include Information Security, Personnel Security, Operations Security, Communications Security, Industrial Security, Foreign Disclosure, Physical Security, Security Awareness, Education, and Training (SETA)
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use tools or controls; normal physical activity (reach with hands and arms; climb stairs); and communicate effectively with all levels of employees and leadership. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of a high school diploma and 2 to 5 years’ experience in a DoD security office.
- Creditable experience include demonstration of the knowledge of concepts, principles and practices in security administration.
- Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency, and education
Travel: May require travel up to 5%.
