Position Available: Traveling Project Superintendent in Civil Projects (Substations)

Our Civil Group is seeking an experienced Traveling Project Superintendent to join our team, specializing in civil projects related to substations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and supervise all field crew members, including foremen, carpenters, and laborers, as well as manage project operations.
  • Develop a project site logistics plan and collaborate with the project manager to determine construction methods and sequencing. Plan, direct, coordinate, and budget activities.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with owners, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Communicate and promote a safe working environment, adhering to company safety standards and demonstrating a strong knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Read and interpret plans, with a solid understanding of various DOT specifications and standards.
  • Assist Project Engineers with the shop drawing and submittal processes.
  • Collaborate with supervisory, engineering personnel, inspectors, and suppliers to resolve construction issues and enhance methods.
  • Schedule subcontractors in alignment with project timelines, including pump trucks and material deliveries, and verify the receipt or shipment of materials.
  • Support the Estimating Department with bidding opportunities and preconstruction services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in large-scale commercial or civil construction project operations, specifically in substations.
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, and Word is a plus.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, including drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • OSHA 30-hour Card is preferred.

This position is governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement, and all candidates will be required to join the IBEW upon hire. All candidates must complete an assessment for selection and a pre-employment drug screen.
