
Senior Director, Market Access

Legend Biotech is seeking Senior Director, Market Access as part of the Commercial team based in Somerset, NJ.
Role Overview
The newly created position of Senior Director, Market will lead Legend Biotech’s market access and support pricing strategies for our innovative CARVYKTI platform. In this position, you will play a key role in advancing Legend’s Commercial mission as part of the Commercial Leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of Legend’s market access strategies for CARVYKTI, pipeline assets and business development
- Collaborate with Johnson & Johnson to contribute to integrated Market Access strategies
- Provide key insights on market access, pricing and policy to cross-functional teams including alliance teams, clinical development, and corporate strategy, ensuring a holistic patient-centric access approach from the outset into the evolving clinical development programs
- Review commercialization strategies and identify opportunities from an access, pricing and policy perspective and run Market Access research projects and lead value and access assessments to inform financial forecasting, business development, and strategy development
- Develop and lead fully integrated access strategies
- Support development of payer value propositions and supporting resources that reflect the holistic value of CARVYKTI’s innovation and enable early evidence and stakeholder engagement planning
- Partner with Johnson & Johnson to optimize indication and geographic launch sequencing optimization plans by conducting comprehensive market access landscape assessments, early scientific advisory meetings, and development of reimbursement strategies
- Educate internal stakeholders, business leaders, and cross-functional teams on existing or future access and reimbursement risks and opportunities for oncology assets in a dynamic healthcare system by seeking broad input and feedback to inform oncology portfolio strategies and priorities
- Support innovative pricing, reimbursement and contracting solutions to overcome pricing and reimbursement challenges with a particular focus on novel-novel combination therapies
- Anticipate market access and pricing trends and regulations, monitor competitor activities, identify strategic implications for Legend, and educate internal colleagues and senior business leaders on the market access and pricing environment
- Leverage knowledge of the external policy and decision-maker environment to optimize evidence development and identify and highlight differentiation for our portfolio in close collaboration with cross-functional colleagues to identify systemic challenges to optimal pricing & reimbursement, and propose policy-based solutions
- Plan, manage, and track consultants, agencies, vendor partnerships, and budget requirements, ensuring cost-effective execution of key activities within established timelines and budget constraints
- Responsible for supporting pricing and access strategy and influencing clinical development, medical, and HEOR evidence generation strategies to deliver robust and compelling value evidence packages for future products. Additionally, the position will collaborate closely with Commercial, Medical and public affairs to develop innovative policy and environment-shaping strategies to benefit Legend.
- Serve as the Legend market access strategy lead for CARVYKTI. The Senior Director will oversee a small team of direct reports focused on optimization of product market access and pricing alongside our partners at Johnson & Johnson.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; post-graduate degree preferred
- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in global market access and pricing within pharmaceutical/biotech companies, device and/or consulting, with proven launch experience and a track record of developing and executing successful integrated access strategies
- Extensive experience in creating market access strategies that optimize patient access
- Deep knowledge of pricing, development, payer organization methods and processes, with experience in how to successfully navigate complex systems
- Established network of relationships with key stakeholders and organizations that influence value assessment and reimbursement decisions
- Demonstrated experience in building and enhancing market access and pricing strategy capabilities
- Motivated contributor with hands-on experience implementing successful market access strategies, strong team player with exceptional partnering, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience collaborating across matrix teams and mentoring market access and pricing professionals to drive performance and achieve business objectives
