The Opportunity:
LG Electronics is looking for a Product Quality Engineer to join its newly formed Product Quality Evaluation Team. This team focuses on assessing product quality from the customer’s viewpoint. In this role, you will ensure the quality of all new models launching in the US market by leveraging strong analytical and reasoning skills to conduct data analysis, system evaluations, and product assessments. Your work will help identify quality trends and areas for improvement, with findings reported to LG Headquarters.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and issue reports on the development stages of new models, focusing on high-grade 3F evaluation: Fit, Feel, and Finish.
- Evaluate product usability, including user interface and user experience.
- Analyze smart functions and connectivity features.
- Assess product function, performance, and serviceability.
- Review the Voice of the Customer, focusing on real-world performance and post-MP VOC.
- Conduct incoming inspections for all new models launched in the US and report findings.
- Foster product evaluation and inspection processes.
- Set up and maintain testing facilities and equipment for product evaluation.
- Test key components of quality control programs through data analysis, system evaluations, product assessments, disassembly, and parts inspections.
- Document quality issues for management review, prepare reports, and present findings in meetings and workgroups.
- Perform audits to ensure quality standards are upheld and assist in the development of new quality measurement methods and procedures.
- Regularly review service bulletins to ensure the accuracy of repair parts, service manuals, and other relevant information.
Qualifications / Education / Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or electronics.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Preferred experience in development, quality, or service for home appliances, such as refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, ranges, and dishwashers.
- Proficient with the internet, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and database management).
- Strong creativity in developing effective product evaluation methods.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to change.
- Capable of working independently and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Work location: Huntsville, Alabama.
- Travel may be required.
