The Opportunity:
The LG EVC Factory Purchasing Specialist III is responsible for performing routine purchasing and procurement activities. These activities include but are not limited to the procuring of parts, equipment, and services in accordance with guidelines, rule, policies, and laws.
Responsibilities:
- Purchasing of goods and services within assigned material classes, on the open market or by contract
- Reviews specifications with management and vendors to secure full descriptions to be used as a basis for bids on materials within assigned classification
- Prepares and distributes formal and informal bid solicitations.
- Prepares and reviews bid tabulations
- Analyzes bids to determine best value; and prepares and issues purchase orders.
- Corresponds with other departments, leaders and vendors regarding purchase requirements, delivery, and quality of merchandise
- Expands and revises existing contracts; and maintains and reviews complex purchasing records and other material to document purchasing and contracting activities regularly
- Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECO) and follow up material requirements
- Performs a variety of marginal duties not listed, to be determined and assigned as needed
Qualifications / Education / Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in or related to Supply Chain Management
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in Material Planning & Management
- Knowledge & experience with purchasing methods, procedures, and general and technical specifications
- Knowledge & experience with the use of automated purchasing management systems
- Knowledge of applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations with the ability to interpret and apply
- Advanced Excel Skills are required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, and Power Point
- Able to prepare and maintain complex records and files in an automated system
- Ability to provide excellent customer service while maintaining a professional attitude
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for preparing and presenting effective planning reports and projects
- Excellent interpersonal skills for facilitating relationships with local teams or leadership
- Creative problem-solving skills to gather relevant information to solve less well- defined planning problems
- Details oriented and organized with the ability to manage effectively and effectively meet firm deadlines
- Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects in a dynamic, fast paced environment
Physical Requirements:
- Ability use up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or negligible amount frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Comfortable working in a sedentary work environment.
- Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- Ability to travel occasionally internationally and/or domestically.
