About the Job

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Manager of Finance Data Analytics to lead our finance data team in initiatives focused on revenue, financial forecasting, and accounting support. This role is pivotal in managing our Databricks data warehouse, deploying SQL data models, and orchestrating workflows using DBT. You will manage the team, act as the primary point of contact for various stakeholders, and administrate various projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge and will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of our financial data reporting pipelines. Additionally, this role will oversee the deployment and management of business intelligence tools such as Tableau and Causal, manage integrations between other systems and the data warehouse, ensure SOX compliance, as well as provide leadership and support to analysts.

For candidates based in the US, the salary range for this position is 164,000 to 241,500 USD. For candidates based out of Canada, the salary range for this position is 193,000 to 226,000 CAD. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary- therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage a team of data analysts to support Finance stakeholders.
  • Develop and optimize the Databricks Data Warehouse - ensuring data integrity, scalability, and performance.
  • Use DBT (Data Build Tool) to orchestrate, test, and deploy SQL data models.
  • Support the accounting team during the month-end close by maintaining and improving financial reporting pipelines.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to support financial analytics, forecasting, and other data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Implement AI-based solutions to help expedite development and expand our capabilities.
  • Deploy and manage business intelligence tools, including Tableau and Causal, to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Develop and maintain data solutions using Python - including working with APIs, building ETL pipelines, and performing web scraping to gather external data for financial analysis.
  • Manage the integrations between other systems and the data warehouse - ensuring seamless data flow and consistency across platforms.
  • Ensure SOX compliance across the data warehouse, implementing and monitoring controls to adhere to regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of the data warehouse architecture, data models, integrations, and processes to ensure effective knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide support to data analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into data models and actionable insights.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve data processes to ensure they meet business needs and industry best practices.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in data analytics, with a focus on financial reporting, accounting support, and business intelligence.
  • Proven experience as a people and project manager.
  • Advanced SQL modeling and Python development skills.
  • Experience managing a Databricks data warehouse and deploying SQL data models.
  • Proficiency with DBT for orchestrating data models, testing, and deployments.
  • Experience deploying AI-based solutions in the finance and analytics space.
  • Strong experience with managing system integrations to and from a data warehouse, ensuring accurate and consistent data flows.
  • In-depth understanding of SOX compliance and experience implementing controls within a data warehouse environment.
  • Extensive experience with month-end close processes and financial reporting, ideally within a public company.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial analysis; CPA certification is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to deploy and manage business intelligence tools such as Tableau and Causal.
  • Proven experience in managing and mentoring data analysts.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
