About the Job
We are looking for an experienced Principal Product Manager to help us build world-class devices that support Life360’s mission.
This role sits at the intersection of hardware innovation, software integration, and family-centered experiences. You’ll be responsible for translating Life360’s vision into tangible devices that seamlessly connect with our app ecosystem and enhance safety for millions of families worldwide. Beyond owning the roadmap, you’ll be a thought partner to executives, a trusted collaborator for cross-functional teams, and a champion of the customer voice in every decision.
As Principal PM, you will not only define what we build but also why we build it — ensuring every initiative is grounded in data, market opportunity, and meaningful customer need. Success in this role requires both strategic foresight and a willingness to get hands-on with execution, whether it’s diving into technical tradeoffs, negotiating with external partners, or running experiments to validate new product concepts.
The US-based salary range for this position is $155,000 to $228,000. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary - therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.
What You’ll Do
- Drive long-term product strategy: Develop and communicate a 3-year devices roadmap that ladders directly up to business metrics (MAU growth, attach rate, retention, revenue mix).
- Define and own success metrics: Establish the measurement framework and success criteria for the Devices business, tying product performance directly to Life360’s overall growth and member value.
- Build category-leading hardware: Through strategic planning and execution, evolve Life360’s hardware lineup into industry-leading technology for “finding” and safety, tightly integrated with the Life360 platform.
- Own the full product lifecycle: Drive products from concept incubation and validation through launch, adoption, and ongoing iteration to maximize impact.
- Elevate customer engagement: Redefine how Life360 engages families through both quantitative signals (usage, NPS, churn) and qualitative insights (research, testing) to ensure we build the right products.
- Shape go-to-market and monetization: Partner with Product Marketing, Sales, and Finance to define pricing, packaging, attach strategies, and subscription bundling that drive growth and healthy margins.
- Influence and align cross-functionally: Partner closely with Finance, Sales, GTM, and Ops to align business goals, resource allocation, and launch success.
- Raise the PM bar: Establish mechanisms and rituals that set a new high standard for product management within Devices, while mentoring other PMs to elevate the craft across Life360.
- Leverage AI/ML: Push the envelope on using AI/ML to differentiate device features and customer experience.
- Ensure a scalable cost structure: Partner with Ops/Eng to design products that scale with low fixed costs and healthy margins.
- Identify new growth opportunities: Incubate adjacent device categories that expand Life360’s footprint in family safety, health, and security.
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years of product management experience, including deep ownership of hardware, IoT, or consumer devices.
- Proven track record of defining long-term product strategy and shipping successful products at scale.
- Strong analytical skills; able to define metrics, build models, and tie product outcomes to business performance.
- Experience working closely with engineering, design, operations, and marketing teams to deliver full-stack hardware/software solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to influence executive leadership and drive alignment across Finance, Ops, Sales, and GTM functions.
- Passion for customer insights and the ability to translate qualitative research and quantitative data into high-impact product decisions.
- Familiarity with AI/ML applications in consumer experiences is a strong plus.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action and comfort operating in ambiguity.
