ABOUT THIS ROLE
As the Revenue Accounting Manager you will serve as the technical subject matter expert and primary driver for the daily execution of our global revenue streams, spanning SaaS, hardware, and services. This role reports to the Director, Revenue Accounting, and is a high-impact, individual contributor role focused on the technical accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting. You will own the end-to-end revenue close process and maintain robust governance to ensure all reporting remains compliant with U.S. GAAP (ASC 606). Your expertise will be vital in ensuring audit readiness, transparency, and the scalability of our global revenue operations as we continue to expand.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Technical Revenue Execution: Lead the monthly and quarterly revenue close process. This includes the high-level preparation of complex journal entries, reconciliations, and the oversight of revenue recognition data to ensure accuracy.
- Technical Documentation & Research: Act as the internal consultant for revenue accounting. You will draft and maintain technical accounting memos to ensure all revenue conclusions are documented, approved, and prepared for rigorous audit testing.
- Compliance & SOX Governance: Serve as the functional owner for revenue-related SOX controls. You will design and execute processes that meet internal and external compliance standards, ensuring a "no surprises" audit environment.
- Systems & Scalability: Take a lead technical role in the Oracle revenue system enhancement project. You will partner with IT to perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT), troubleshoot complex logic issues, and ensure data integrity for SKUs, pricing, and contracts.
- Process Automation: Proactively identify and implement process improvements to shorten close cycles and leverage automation, ensuring our systems can scale for international expansion.
- Strategic Collaboration: Partner cross-functionally with Sales and Legal to review complex deal structures, identifying and communicating potential revenue impacts before contracts are finalized.
- Audit Management: Act as the primary liaison for internal and external auditors during walkthroughs, providing expert evidence collection and technical explanations for revenue treatments.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Credentials: CPA is highly preferred with a deep technical foundation in ASC 606.
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. We highly value candidates with a blend of Big 4 public accounting and hands-on corporate revenue experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Systems Mastery: Advanced proficiency with Oracle (strongly preferred) and Salesforce. You should have a proven track record of navigating ERP implementations or significant system upgrades.
- Analytical Depth: Exceptional skills in complex reconciliations and flux analysis. You have a knack for distilling massive amounts of technical data into clear, actionable insights for leadership.
- Autonomy & Integrity: A self-starter who operates with the highest ethical standards. You possess the professional independence and confidence required to uphold financial reporting integrity without constant supervision.
