This is a player‑coach role for a technically credible infrastructure leader who enjoys leading engineers while remaining close to architecture and operational decision‑making. The Senior Manager partners closely with the Sr. Director of IT Operations to execute infrastructure strategies, mature operational practices, and support growth initiatives including cloud modernization and M&A integration.

This role does not operate as a standalone Director; instead, it is designed for a high‑impact leader who runs infrastructure day‑to‑day while contributing to longer‑term planning and roadmap execution.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Infrastructure Leadership & Operations

  • Lead and develop a team of infrastructure engineers across systems, network, and cloud disciplines
  • Serve as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents and platform decisions
  • Translate infrastructure strategy into execution plans, standards, and priorities
  • Partner with the Sr. Director, IT Operations on staffing needs, budgeting input, and roadmap execution

Cloud and Azure Infrastructure

  • Execute and maintain Azure infrastructure standards including subscriptions, identity integrations, networking, and resource lifecycle practices
  • Support Azure governance, cost management, and tagging standards in partnership with IT leadership
  • Contribute to cloud architecture discussions aligned to Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and hybrid identity initiatives

Systems & Virtualization

  • Oversee the Windows Server environment including lifecycle management, patching, Active Directory, and identity integrations
  • Manage virtualization platforms (VMware and/or Hyper‑V) including capacity planning, upgrades, and host health
  • Own server hardware lifecycle coordination and data center / co‑location vendor relationships

Network Engineering Oversight

  • Provide senior technical leadership across routing, switching, firewall policy, VLAN segmentation, and WAN connectivity
  • Support network design and deployments for corporate offices and field sites (including LTE/cellular, Starlink, and VPN connectivity)
  • Assist with SD‑WAN, BGP, and site expansion planning as the organization grows through acquisition and geographic expansion

Storage, Backup, and Disaster Recovery

  • Own daily operations of storage (SAN/NAS) and backup platforms
  • Maintain backup integrity, retention policies, and offsite/cloud replication
  • Execute DR testing, runbooks, and recovery procedures in alignment with defined RTO/RPO targets

Governance, M&A & Reporting

  • Support infrastructure discovery, integration, and migration activities for M&A events
  • Maintain infrastructure documentation, standards, and audit evidence
  • Produce operational reporting on uptime, capacity, backup success, and cloud spend
  • Support compliance initiatives including SOC 2, NIST 800‑171, and CIS controls

Minimum Qualifications

Required:

  • 8–12+ years of progressive infrastructure experience with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or senior technical lead role
  • Demonstrated hands‑on experience across systems, networking, and cloud infrastructure
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS / PaaS), beyond basic VM administration
  • Deep working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and hybrid identity environments
  • Enterprise networking experience spanning routing, VLANs, firewall policy, and WAN architectures
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware and/or Hyper‑V) and backup platforms (Veeam, Azure Backup, or equivalent)
  • Proficiency with PowerShell for automation and administrative efficiency
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience

Preferred:

  • Microsoft Azure certifications (AZ‑104, AZ‑305)
  • Networking certifications (CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent)

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
