Sr. Systems Engineer, HV Battery Systems
We are currently seeking a Sr. HV Battery Systems Engineer. This position requires an experienced professional with a strong understanding of high voltage battery systems, and the challenges of integrating such systems within a vehicle. Role:
- Be part of a passionate and highly driven team of multi-disciplinary engineers developing the next generation of Lucid’s HV Battery Architecture
- Lead a team in delivery of the HV battery system engineering deliverables for special projects
- Act as main interface between the HV systems team and external OEMs
- Leverage system models and optimization tools to assess battery electrical and thermal performance under different usage scenarios
- Define interfaces between electrical and mechanical components
- Derive subsystem requirements and verification test definitions
- Track and communicate sub-system requirements specifications, validation test procedures & requirements verification traceability.
- Develop efficient processes to speed up product development cycles
- Create and maintain documentation strategy of product specifications, test and data analysis results
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in traction batteries and/or automotive industries
- Solid understanding of engineering first principles and system engineering
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both technical and non-technical environments
- Fundamental understanding of battery technology, and high-voltage safety and battery controls.
- Understanding of BMS hardware and software system engineering
- Ability to quickly comprehend complex systems, identify problems and effectively coordinate an action plan to drive decisions
- Ability to solve open-ended engineering problems using systems level thinking
- A detail-oriented personality with solid documentation and reporting skills
- Ownership mindset, enthusiasm, and a collaborative spirit
Preferred:
- Experience with hardware-related system development (e.g., complex control units, vehicle electrical architecture, etc.)
- Experience defining test plans, designing test setups, and analyzing data
- Knowledge of automotive and safety standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, IEC, UL, SAE, GB, etc.)
- Experience with product failure analysis
- Experience managing product development cycles
- Experience performing or participating in DFMEA and building DVP&R for high voltage batteries
- Experience with automated requirements management tools (e.g., JAMA, Cameo, Polarion, etc.)
- Experience with Atlassian Software (JIRA, Confluence)
Education:
- BS in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering, Masters preferred
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$133,400 - $183,480 USD
