Intern, Advanced Vehicle Electronics, Summer 2025
Team Description:
At Lucid, our Advanced Vehicle Electronics team is responsible for designing and developing Mechanical and Thermal management for our Platform Computing & Power System, Infotainment Computing System, Access Control System, Radio System, Customer power/Data, Audio system, and Telematics system. We ensure that our customers have the best-in-class user experience, be it Infotainment, Audio or how someone accesses the vehicle. Our team works with our Digital counterparts to bring the best Low Voltage Architecture, Telematics Architecture, Audio Architecture and Infotainment Architecture, integrating cutting-edge technologies into the Lucid Air and Lucid Gravity. As we advance, we aim to elevate our next platform and establish ourselves as leaders in the industry. We are looking for a Summer 2025 Intern to join our team.
Role/Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and conduct Vehicle level and bench level testing of the Low Voltage Electronics including Audio System, ECUs etc
- Collaborate with ME, EE and Test engineers to perform reliability Simulation work using Ansys Sherlock and verify the design and simulations with bench level Reliability testing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills help in troubleshooting and optimizing designs to enhance reliability and performance
- The ability to analyze simulation data, identify potential issues, and make informed decisions to improve design reliability
- Familiarity with electronic components, printed circuit boards (PCBs), and Mechanical and Thermal design features of these components
Nice to Have:
- Experience using Ansys Sherlock
- Lab work and/or Coursework in Electronics packaging
- Knowledge of reliability physics and failure mechanisms in electronics
Education:
- Field(s) of study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Material Science or related field
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree program at an accredited university
- Proof of enrollment in current or into next program (MS)
Program Information:
- Timing: May- August, or June-September pending class schedules.
- Duration of Internship: Our internship program is 12 weeks; the end date is flexible based on individual needs.
- Work Location & Environment: This position will be in Newark, CA, and is fully in-person. You must be prepared to start onsite for your first day of employment. The working environment will be a mix of lab & office work.
- Compensation: Student compensation is based on location and current degree level, non-negotiable ranging from $35 to $48 (subject to changes).
- Relocation: May be provided on a case to case basis.
- Housing/Transportation: You must provide your own living arrangements and transportation in the local area.
- Background Check: All offers of employment are contingent on clearing a background check.
- Drug Screening: All offers of employment are contingent on passing a drug screen.
- Medical benefits: Dental, vision, and medical on day 1 for all interns working full-time.
- Visa Sponsorship: Lucid may but is not obligated to sponsor foreign national employees requiring company sponsorship for U.S employment authorization.
Base Pay Range (hourly)
$35 - $48 USD
