In this role you are a true team player working cross functionally within various teams and departments at Lucid. The Lead Brand Designer is charged with creating clear and concise concepts to support the brand’s core mission and DNA, from ideation to execution. The Senior Brand Designer has a proven ability to create powerful narrative through visual design and treatments, creating work that drives the brand identity forward.

Lead Brand Designers have a unique perspective and a creative sensibility. They are able to translate design across different content types. This person understands what type of design should be executed based on various types of projects, resulting in refined and deliberate creative. This person is adept at processing complex information into simple and elegant design solutions. The Lead Brand Designer is responsible for print and digital storytelling needs of the company. A highly collaborative role, the Lead Brand Designer collaborates with a variety of other creatives and people in other departments day-to-day and needs to be versatile and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment where needs are constantly evolving.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Lead the conceptualization and production of world-class branded content as well as execute daily needs in a timely fashion.

· Contribute to design guides and apply those guides across platforms to drive a cohesive design language

· Be an active part of the design of our digital and print projects

· Create and execute against creative objectives for all project team members.

· Brainstorm concepts, create mockups, refine design details, and prepare assets

· Collaborate with various department (clients), producers, photography crews, editors, graphic artists, 3D artists and motion designers to achieve the finished product.

· Partner with the Executive Creative Director to lead and enhance our brand identity, architecture, and visual language as a passionate steward, advocate, and gatekeeper of the brand identity.

· Help art direct and select photography and rendered assets

· Oversee client pitches and proposals as needed.

· Work collectively across all functions from marketing to engineers and the leadership team to convey the value of the brand within a business context.

· Be immersed in our company values and passions, instilling the integrity of the company and of brand in the look, the feel and the execution of design storytelling

· Maintain constant and consistent communication with clients through email and phone.

· Solicit, review, and incorporate feedback from team as works best.

· Train, manage and mentor team members.

· Work with Producers to align on forecasting hours week over week

· Ensure that all artists are recorded in our resource management tool for assigned projects.

· Guide, mentor and manage direct reports (Brand Designers)

· Schedule 1 to 1’s with their direct report weekly

· Conduct two reviews annually (informal mid-year review) and formal end of year review

· Receive feedback bi-annually through reviews aforementioned

· Approve timesheets if direct reports are contractors

· Ensure that their direct report feels supported and heard (1 to 1’s)

QUALIFICATIONS:

EXPERIENCE:

· 8+ years of experience working on brand centered design projects.

· At least 3+ years’ experience as an In-House Senior / Lead Designer

· Experience working with external agencies, creators and talents

· Skilled in multi-tasking to manage a high volume of creative and content

· Led and/or built a dynamic team of producers and project managers

· Passion for mission-driven brands

· A demonstrated user empathy approach to design and fluency in digital, print and environmental design

· Expert aptitude in project management tools like Basecamp, Asana, etc.

· Deep understanding of layout and typography for digital, print and environmentals

· Understanding of the luxury space

· Fluent in Figma and Adobe Suite

REQUIREMENTS:

· You are proficient: You have deep experience executing brand and product strategies across video content. You bring your brain to the table as well as your creative skill, addressing every detail to bring the brand to life.

· You are creative: You have deep knowledge and command of the concept and execution of product + brand communications and how to collaborate with a cross-functional team to get a project done. You are always in ‘idea mode’ and know how to bring people along in your thinking and translate that idea into tangible design concepts.

· You are a team player: You thrive collaborating with teams and building ideas. Listen to others to solve creative challenges and help to create solutions when needed. You can act either as a leader or as an active participant in meetings, according to the business needs.

· You are effective: You are highly organized and your verbal and written communication is clear and professional as you manage high volume creative guiding various project clients, teams, and talents in parallel toward the project goal.

· You are resourceful: You are a self-starter. We are a small, busy team. Our creative output is disproportionate to our size. We do this by being nimble, resourceful problem solvers that work smart.

REPORTING:

As Lead Brand Designer you will have Designer(s) as your direct report(s). Responsibilities of managers include:

 

· Ensuring that your direct report feels supported and heard

· Conducting two reviews annually (informal mid-year review) and a formal end of year review

· Receiving feedback bi-annually through reviews aforementioned

As the Lead Brand Designer, you will report directly to the Executive Creative Director.

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
 
Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.  (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)

Base Pay Range (Annual)

$139,000 - $190,000 USD
