Director, Lean Manufacturing
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Lean Manufacturing to join our Manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in world-class manufacturing environments, with the ability to lead and inspire teams toward continuous improvement and operational excellence. This role is critical to driving lean initiatives across our organization and ensuring the highest levels of efficiency, quality, and productivity in our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead the development and execution of lean manufacturing strategies across all production facilities.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence through leadership, coaching, and mentoring.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align lean initiatives with overall business objectives.
- Lean Implementation:
- Implement and sustain lean manufacturing principles, including total productive maintenance, value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen, and Just-In-Time production.
- Drive standardization and consistency across all manufacturing processes.
- Develop and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of lean initiatives.
- Training & Development:
- Establish and lead a Lean Manufacturing Academy to train and develop internal talent.
- Provide ongoing training and support to teams at all levels to build lean capabilities within the organization.
- Ensure that lean principles are deeply embedded in the company culture.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify and eliminate waste in all forms, improving flow, reducing cycle times, and optimizing the use of resources.
- Work closely with engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure the seamless integration of lean practices.
- Lead projects aimed at reducing costs, improving quality, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
- Change Management:
- Champion change management efforts to overcome resistance and drive adoption of lean practices.
- Engage with stakeholders at all levels to build support for lean initiatives.
- Communicate the benefits and progress of lean initiatives to the broader organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on lean manufacturing.
- Demonstrated experience in implementing and leading lean initiatives in a world-class manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Experience in establishing training programs or academies is highly desirable.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
