
Sr. Powertrain R&D Resource Planning Associate
We are seeking a Sr. Powertrain R&D Resource Planning Associate to support strategic planning, operational modeling, and business analytics within the Powertrain organization. This role will play a critical part in driving data-driven decision-making, financial modeling, and business case development to optimize operations and support long-term powertrain strategy.
As part of the Powertrain Strategic Planning & Business Management team, you will collaborate with engineering, finance, supply chain, and leadership teams to provide insights that enhance operational efficiency, cost structure, and business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic & Business Analysis
- Develop and analyze business cases, engagement models, and capital investment strategies for powertrain projects
- Conduct market research, competitive benchmarking, and scenario analysis to support long-term powertrain planning
- Identify operational inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities across the powertrain organization
Operational & Financial Modeling
- Build data-driven financial models to assess the impact of engineering decisions, manufacturing investments, and cost structures
- Support budget planning and forecasting for powertrain programs in collaboration with finance teams
- Develop resource planning models to optimize headcount, capital expenditure, and operational workflows
Data Analytics & Performance Tracking
- Create dashboards, reports, and KPIs to track powertrain performance, cost efficiency, and operational metrics
- Analyze cost trends, program efficiency, and risk factors to provide actionable insights for leadership
- Leverage data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) to present key findings and recommendations
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering, finance, corp. facilities, supply chain, and leadership teams to drive business improvements
- Support executive reporting, presentations, and strategic decision-making with data-driven insights
- Act as a liaison between powertrain leadership and corporate strategy teams to align business objectives
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in business analysis, financial modeling, strategic planning, or operations
- Strong understanding of powertrain systems, EV industry dynamics, and manufacturing operations
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, or similar data analytics tools
- Experience in business case development, cost modeling, and scenario analysis
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for cross-functional collaboration
Preferred
- Experience in the EV industry, automotive sector, or consulting
- Familiarity with CAPEX/OPEX planning, investment analysis, and cost optimization
- Knowledge of supply chain logistics, manufacturing processes, and operational efficiency metrics
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to work in fast-paced, data-driven environments
Base Pay Range (Annual)
$113,000 - $155,320 USD
