The Role:
- Lead the Taiwan High Voltage team and effectively prioritize workload demands to meet project deadlines.
- Partner with supply chain, software, hardware, and quality teams to ensure a coherent design and consistent delivery.
- Design and develop high voltage and high power electrical unit packaging, low voltage vehicle control boxes, and functional/performance specifications following best practices, e.g. OBC, DCDC, GWSW, fuse boxes, ECU, etc.
- Coordinate CAE, design, prototyping, testing of components, and documentation of these activities.
- Troubleshoot issues in manufacturing plants, assembly plants, and field operations.
- Lead failure analyses and experiments to propose design revisions and solutions.
- Monitor BOM and control costs, identify risks and intervene in early stage.
- Mentor team members through coaching, feedback cycles, performance evaluations and foster a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in design release engineering, including engineering change control and project management, as well as in assembly and production environment.
- Experience with manufacturing processes such as PCBA, injection molding, sheet metal stamping, die casting, and more.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD, preferably CATIA V6/3DX.
- Familiarity with systems engineering tools and methodologies, e.g. DFMEA, DOE, Six Sigma, tolerance analysis.
- Has held a supervisory role overseeing a team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Language proficiency in Mandarin and English, written and spoken.
Preferred:
- 15+ years of relevant design experience.
- Familiarity with automotive engineering & product validation processes.
- Experience integrating mechanical designs with high-voltage electrical systems.
