
Manager, Powertrain Maintenance
The Powertrain Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities across Powertrain Maintenance operation during the night shift/day shift, including Battery, Drive Unit, and Power Electronics. This leader ensures equipment availability, reliability, and safe operation to support uninterrupted production. The role requires strong technical knowledge, hands-on problem solving, and effective alignment with day shift maintenance and operations leadership.
You Will:
- End-to-End Oversight: Lead all night shift maintenance activities across Powertrain lines (Battery, Drive Unit, Power Electronics).
- Equipment Availability: Ensure equipment uptime meets or exceeds ≥75% availability target to support production JPH goals.
- Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Oversee execution of PM and PdM schedules, ensuring compliance and addressing gaps.
- Rapid Response & Troubleshooting: Lead structured problem solving (5-Why, RCA, PFMEA, 8D) to resolve breakdowns and reduce repeat failures.
- Team Development: Mentor and coach night shift maintenance supervisors, technicians, and contractors to build technical depth and reliability discipline.
- Cross-Shop Coordination: Partner with Operations, Engineering, TPM, and IE to resolve chronic issues and plan corrective actions.
- Standardization: Enforce consistent maintenance practices, documentation, and reporting across all Powertrain areas.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure safe maintenance practices, LOTO compliance, and adherence to company and regulatory requirements.
You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or related field (preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in high-volume manufacturing maintenance, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Proven success in improving equipment uptime, reliability, and maintenance cost performance.
- Strong knowledge of automated equipment, robotics, controls, and industrial systems.
- Expertise in lean maintenance practices, TPM, and reliability engineering.
- Excellent leadership, decision-making, and communication skills in fast-paced environments.
- Prior experience in automotive, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing preferred.
- Ability to work a night shift schedule and lead independently with minimal direct oversight.
