
Vehicle Engineering Intern – Cockpit Mechanisms

We are seeking a highly motivated Engineering Intern to support the development of cockpit mechanisms across key interior domains: Center Console, Instrument Panel, Doors, and Overhead Console. This internship offers hands-on experience in the design, validation, and integration of mechanical systems within the vehicle interior, contributing to the next generation of user-centric automotive experiences.
Your Role
- Support the design and packaging of mechanical components and sub-systems for cockpit areas.
- Assist in benchmarking and teardown analysis of competitor vehicles to identify best practices and innovation opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, Electronics, Manufacturing, and Suppliers) to ensure feasibility and integration of mechanisms.
- Participate in prototype builds and validation testing, including fit & finish, kinematics, and robustness assessments.
- Document engineering solutions and present findings to the broader team.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Prior internship or project experience with a Tier 1 supplier or OEM is strongly preferred.
- Basic knowledge of CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, NX, or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for automotive design and user-focused innovation.
- Excellent communication skills in English; German is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or project experience in automotive or consumer product development.
- Familiarity with vehicle packaging, materials, and manufacturing processes.
