What will your day look like?
As a Finance Manager at VML, you will be a hands-on financial leader, crucial for managing all finance-related activities. You will serve as a vital business partner, providing detailed financial analysis, ensuring robust reporting, and contributing to the strategic financial health of our client engagements. You'll work closely with executive leadership, ensuring stability and accuracy across all financial operations.
More specifically, you will:
- Oversee and manage all day-to-day finance-related activities for VML, including accounting, reporting, general bookkeeping, payment controls, and external reporting to WPP.
- Serve as a dedicated financial business partner to internal stakeholders and account teams, providing crucial financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and drive profitability for several global brands.
- Lead the preparation, in-depth analysis, and interpretation of complex customer reporting, financial statements, and profitability reports, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to optimize financial performance.
- Manage the full accounting function from A-Z for designated legal entities, ensuring meticulous adherence to accounting standards and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure robust internal controls and manage relationships with external auditors, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Contribute to and execute process improvements, driving the development and implementation of enhanced reporting systems and controls to improve efficiency and accuracy across finance operations.
- Mentor and guide junior members of the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within your direct reports.
- Participate in financial projects, ensuring their timely and successful completion in alignment with broader business objectives.
Who are you going to work with?
You will be an integral part of VML dedicated Finance department You'll lead a team of five finance professionals and collaborate closely with executive leadership, account teams, and operational departments across our global presence, including our subsidiaries. Our team fosters open communication, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to excellence.
What do you bring to the table?
You are a highly motivated and experienced financial professional with a strong ability to drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You possess a high level of stability, sound judgment, and the gravitas to confidently support executive leadership. You are committed to making a long-term impact on the organization's success.
More specifically, you have:
- At least five years of progressive finance experience, ideally with an auditor background, having held roles such as Finance Manager or Senior Finance Manager.
- Strong proficiency in accounting principles, reporting, general bookkeeping, payment controls, and external reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with external auditors.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with financial reporting systems.
- Proven business acumen and commercial experience, including aspects of pricing, business optimization, and navigating periods of growth or challenge.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate financial concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- A proactive, results-oriented approach, capable of thriving in a dynamic international environment.
- A collaborative and supportive leadership style, focused on developing your team.
Ideally you also have:
- Experience working with international subsidiaries or multi-entity structures.
- A Master's degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Experience with international reporting standards.
