What will your day look like? 

As our new Director, you will join our growing team of CRM & marketing data specialists. Here, you will help our clients collect, analyze and activate 1st-party and 3rd-party data at scale to create impactful customer experiences that drive measurable business results.  You will help to propose, design and deliver solutions that support customer insights, audience activation, personalization and measurement of marketing performance. 

More specifically, your tasks will include:   

  • Bridging technical analytics with business strategy, driving roadmaps for customer data, measurement and audience planning. 
  • Consulting with senior clients and internal stakeholders to shape strategies and roadmaps through analytically derived insight and data-driven solutions. 
  • Evaluating clients’ data landscape, use cases and business requirements to diagnose, recommend, design, and deliver data and analytics solutions adding value to CRM programs. 
  • Building stakeholder consensus and lead in a matrixed team environment, including senior client relationships. 
  • Strategically leading delivery of client data projects in a matrixed team environment, collaborating with a team of highly skilled CRM, data and technology professionals and client relationships.  
  • Analyzing clients’ prospect and customer data gleaning insights informing experience, content and performance optimizations. 
  • Helping build prototypes and proofs of concepts that test out key assumptions and provide a blueprint for production grade solution build and deployment.   
  • Designing and managing robust measurement frameworks, including attribution and in-market testing. 

Travel for onsite client and partner agency presence will be required.  Specific levels of travel can vary.  

 

Who are you going to work with?

You will be working closely in projects with a lot of different people with different professions, both inside and outside of VML MAP. You will be part of a group of experienced Data Solution Consultants and will work closely with colleagues from the other groups in our consulting practice. We strive to have an open collaboration model to optimally utilize our total skillsets.  

You will also work closely with our Tech and Data specialists, Experience Strategy and Client Engagement leads to deliver client projects, and you will work directly with our clients, i.e., key stakeholders in the data, marketing and IT organizations of large global companies. You will also have the opportunity to engage with our data and technology partners, such as Salesforce, Adobe, Braze, Google, and Snowflake. 

Together, we help our clients put in place data solutions that drive business value in a collaborative work environment with a focus on both professional expertise and having fun on the way. 

 

What do you bring to the table?

You might have a data and technology background and grew into a consulting role, or maybe you come from a business background and have built a strong understanding of data solutions. Nevertheless, it is important that you have strong core consulting skills as well as data experience and expertise. 

Consulting skills 

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, i.e., the ability to clearly communicate complex topics to stakeholders at all levels of the organization. 
  • Structured problem-solving skills, i.e., the ability to identify and analyze complex problems and develop practical solutions.  
  • Business acumen, i.e., an understanding of how businesses work and how they create value.  
  • The ability to build trust and strong working relationships with clients, partners and colleagues. 

Data experience and expertise 

  • You have a degree in data science, digital marketing, computer science or similar fields of study, or equivalent work experience in these areas. 
  • You are considered an expert in marketing data with deep expertise in marketing measurement, customer data, and marketing data solutions enabled through analytics. 
  • You have experience analyzing business needs, designing, scoping, and delivering data solution projects and services in large organizations. 
  • Experience collaborating with and communicating to technical and business audiences alike.  

As a person, you are outgoing, collaborative and love being part of interdisciplinary projects and solutions. You are a leader who remains eager to learn.  You are comfortable with the complexity of high-tech dialogues and solutions.  Furthermore, you have the drive, enthusiasm and technical skills to take lead when facing the client in data and insights related matters. Through this, you strive to help and inspire the client to grow their business by combining data insights, performance analytics, and data engineering. It’s an advantage if you have agency experience and marketing domain knowledge, but it’s not a requirement.   

In addition, you have:   

  • A minimum of 10-15 years in a senior consultant role with clients related to marketing data, predictive analytics, BI and reporting solutions. 
  • An infectious curiosity around data applications for CRM and customer insight development, AI use cases and continuous innovation. 
  • Comfortable with hands-on work in technology platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Data Cloud, Adobe Experience Cloud, Braze, etc. 
  • Hands-on experience working with cloud data platforms, ETL and reporting, data analysis through R, Python or other similar toolsets. 
  • Experience with database and data model design for business intelligence and analytics solutions is an advantage. 
  • Familiarity with multi-touch attribution approaches and techniques involving a range of paid and owned channels is an advantage.  
  • Experience with Google Insights/Google Analytics, Google Cloud Platform/BigQuery, Adobe Analytics and Salesforce is an advantage. 
  • Worked in a globally distributed team structure involving multiple time zones and work cultures 
  • Great communication skills in English.
